Job Purpose and Impact:

The Global Marketing Director Cargill Animal Nutrition will provide leadership and direct the development and implementation of the marketing capability within Cargill Animal Nutrition’s (CAN) Strategic Marketing & Technology (SMT) organization. In this role, you will provide support to the CAN global group and businesses across the globe to develop compelling strategies and serve as a strategic partner to sales, technical, marketing and R&D leaders to translate market, customer and consumer trends and insights into practicable actions. CAN’s portfolio spans from core nutrition offerings to premixes, complete feed, petfood all the way to young animal nutrition, digital solutions and additives (brands like Delacon, Diamond V). CAN operates in ~50 countries, with ~200 plants across all major production and companion animal species. We serve more than 50k B2B customers across the globe and millions of B2C/Indirect Channel customers. In CAN we touch the dinner plates of more than 1 billion people every single day and technically enhance more than 150M MT of feed worldwide every year. Key Accountabilities:

  • Shape CAN’s marketing agenda, co-creating a global vision with various senior stakeholders and leaders in our businesses across the globe, and execute this global vision with our global and local teams in the markets. In CAN we operate truly in a global, and matrixed manner. This position will play a lead role in the co-creation of customer solutions and orchestrating an ecosystem of Marketing and Innovation capabilities to drive growth for Cargill and its customers. 
  • Define and execute upon CAN’s branding strategy for our corporate Cargill brand, our go-to-market brands (e.g. Provimi), the various product line brands (e.g. Diamond V, Delacon, Neopig) and product brands (e.g. XPC, Biostrong, RescueMilk). 
  • Lead CAN’s annual Organic Growth Drivers (OGD) process helping the global group and the businesses to define “Where To Play”, upon which our market tiering (e.g. determines resource allocation) and Annual Operating Plans (AOPs) are built. 
  • Define and execute compelling Marketing Communication strategies for CAN’s core offering and new products, services and solutions (NPSS) launches. Define a global framework and execute both globally and locally. 
  • Define, create and develop tools for our sales and technical teams across the globe, e.g. ROI calculators, product positioning decision trees. 
  • Connect our global customer segmentation model to actionable approaches that shape product, services and solutions portfolio around these customer segments, making us unbeatable for strategic (tier 1) customers and reliable for classic and base (tier 2 & 3) customers. 
  • Co-create our thought leadership approach communicating the pride our people working in our business feel to the external world in a fact based manner. Directly work with strategic customers to understand their needs so we can help them tell their story as well.
  • Provide day to day leadership and personal development to a team of ~25 global marketing professionals responsible for species marketing, additives product marketing, digital solutions marketing, creative and marketing enablement activities. 
  • Be a member of the SMT Leadership Team and actively participate from and beyond the Marketing Director role. Your peers are Global Species SMT Directors, the Global Additives Director, the Global R&D Director, the Global Core Nutrition Director, the Global Key Accounts Director and the Global PMO Lead. 
  • Shape, define and manage our global marketing budget. 
  • Develop, align and execute the Annual Operating Plan for Marketing. 
  • Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience. 
  • Mastery of quantitative and conceptual problem solving. 
  • Proficiency with business strategy, marketing strategy, market research, branding, marketing communication, competitive analysis and data analysis. 
  • Have a blend of solid foundational marketing skills along with B2B capabilities. 
  • Minimum of eight years of related work experience, eight years of supervisory experience. 
  • Global business and leadership experience. 
  • Open to travel up to 30%.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s degree in Animal Science, Veterinary Science or Business Administration. 
  • Commercial experience with proven results focused on value creation. 
  • Domain expertise within the animal nutrition and health industry. 
  • Experience developing and delivering multimode communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences, stakeholder engagement. 
  • Experience creating frameworks of global strategy and decisions allowing for best-in-class global and local roll-outs or in other words create alignment around our tight properties and loose properties. 
  • Fluency in additional language(s).
