Position Overview:

The Marketing Director develops and executes Minnesota Rubber and Plastics marketing and communications strategy to drive brand awareness, deliver effective messaging and generate new leads to avail of growth.

The position will develop Global marketing plans from scratch, this is a newly created position with no precedence. Responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive digital marketing strategy for Minnesota Rubber & Plastics. The position will need a strong network of agency contacts to enable work to be done effectively and quickly.

The position reports to the Global Vice President of Sales & Marketing and requires someone who is process-oriented and measurement driven.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Globally responsible for all of MRP digital marketing strategy and execution of plans and initiatives enabling growth. Focus geographies are North America, Europe and China. Focus markets are Medical, Water, Food & Beverage and Transportation. 
  • Drive, own and manage marketing plans to support vertical market growth strategies. Close collaboration with Vertical Market Directors and Account Management Team to ensure value proposition, messaging and brand image is crystal clear to our market space 
  • Responsible for overhaul/kickstarting development of key marketing tools e.g. website, social media, content development, trade shows, press and promotional activities to drive leads and opportunities. 
  • Oversees the collaborative planning process, contracts, outputs, direct relationships and cross-agency integration of all Creative and Media to maximize partner efficiency and effectiveness. 
  • Develops metrics for success, implements measurement tools, and utilizes data to continually refine approach. Analyzes marketing and campaign performance, competitiveness and trends in the marketplace to creatively identify strategic opportunities and develop effective, data driven strategies 
  • Develops and implements a lead process: From lead generation and cultivation to RFQ requests that connects seamlessly to the CRM and sales management process. 
  • Ability to build and lead a marketing organization to drive growth 
  • Assist in development of annual strategic plan by conducting total available market analysis, competitive matrix, and market adjacency evaluation 
  • Identify, track and correlate macro market indicators that have measurable impact on how the MRP business performs in target markets 
  • Perform market and business analytics as required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or Business. MBA is a plus 
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience with proven track record of success in marketing, specifically digital marketing 
  • Exceptional demonstrated verbal communication, presentation, writing and interpersonal skills 
  • Experience working in, or managing relationships with, external marketing/advertising agencies, trade show support providers, graphic designers and other vendors. 
  • Strong project management skill 
  • Strong people leadership skills and ability to build a small team from ground up 
  • Strong network of agency contacts around the world 
  • Excellent budget management skills
