The Grants and Communications Manager is responsible for overseeing private grants, including researching, writing, submission and follow-up of funding proposals, as well as general communications duties. The ideal candidate will be strategic, detail-oriented, and able to organize and prioritize deadline-driven projects.

Responsibilities:

GRANTS (80%)

  • Research and identify funding opportunities 
  • Write and submit grants and funding requests with quality, timeliness, and attention to detail, and ensure accurate and timely grant reporting and evaluation 
  • Develop/maintain grants calendar to track deadlines, communication, and reporting 
  • Assist with establishing goals for grant development, submissions, and revenue
  • Report on the status of grant funding and compliance requirements 
  • Maintain relationships with external grant managers and program officers of funding bodies 
  • Support the creation of targeted sponsorship proposals 
  • Ensure that donor communications and follow up are timely and accurate

COMMUNICATiONS (20%)

  • Support the development of marketing materials including e-newsletter, brochures, flyers, infographics, and other materials 
  • Assist with drafting general communications as needed 
  • Support agency’s online presence through relevant and timely posts to social media accounts
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred 
  • 3-5 years of experience in grant writing, fundraising, or development 
  • Demonstrated ability to write proposals and applications. 
  • Knowledge of best practices in non-profit fundraising, budgeting, grant tracking, and reporting procedures. 
  • Experience securing funding with behavioral healthcare or related issues preferred, graphic design experience a plus. 
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and compile reports and correspondence; and comprehend and make inferences from written material 
  • Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. 
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
