The Graphic Design and Brand Specialist will be responsible for overseeing the development and designs of a wide variety of District materials. This individual will work with internal customers and have interactions with the community to promote the District’s brand. This position works with the Marketing & Communications team to meet the needs of comprehensive marketing campaigns across the District. Hours may fluctuate based on programs and special events; evening and/weekend work may apply.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Plan, develop and design a wide variety of promotional materials, including but not limited to, quarterly program guides, informational and educational brochures, manuals, newsletters, flyers, multi-media projects, and other materials for external and internal use; conduct appropriate background research as needed. 
  • Coordinate production of the recreation program guide; collaborate with staff and oversee design and layout determination; manage printing and distribution. 
  • Maintain District brand and standards in harmony with the strategic goals of the District. 
  • Brainstorm and develop ideas for creative marketing campaigns and associated graphic design. 
  • Serve as a backup for updates to the District website and social media sites. 
  • Manage and schedule the District’s photography and videography needs and maintains asset archive. 
  • Attend District and community events as needed for photography, outreach and marketing efforts. 
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge. 
  • Research and keep up with current marketing trends. 
  • May be required to work evenings and weekends to assist with District events. 
  • Work closely with District managers and supervisors and Marketing & Communications team. 
  • Assist in the development and creation of marketing procedures and District-wide style guide. 
  • Train new staff on Marketing & Communications procedures related to the program guide and District brand standards. 
  • Foster and maintain effective professional working relationships with the general public and co-workers. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Bachelor’s degree with major coursework in Graphic Design, Marketing, Communications or related field. 
  • Proficient with Adobe Creative Suite 
  • Familiarity with social medial platforms and various website CMS platforms 
  • Communicate effectively both orally and in writing 
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) 
  • Project management and time management 
  • Productively work in a collaborative team environment 
  • Attention to detail 
  • WordPress skills 
  • Knowledgeable in graphic design, photography and the creation, development and implementation of marketing plans. 
  • Familiar with print communication and production best practices and graphic trends 
  • Possession of a valid Driver’s License
