United Properties is seeking a creative, motivated and organized Graphic Design intern to work 15 hours a week to design and produce communication pieces to drive engagement and advance the goals of the company. This paid position will report to the Brand and Communications Manager and assist with content build and other creative tasks.

The Graphic Design Intern's primary duties include:

  • Think creatively and develop and design print and digital materials 
  • Assist with collateral updates 
  • Design and create promotional advertisements (e.g. online, print, email) 
  • Maintain UP brand standards to ensure consistency and quality of all marketing touchpoints 
  • Create social media graphics to coincide with social and blog posts 
  • Administer ongoing updates and changes to the company's existing website 
  • Provide design support throughout the execution of campaigns and projects 
  • Manage the company's social media accounts and post approved content 
  • Other projects and duties as assigned

What it takes to thrive in this role:

  • Strong graphic design, writing and communication skills 
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Acrobat) for PC and Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel) 
  • Familiarity with social media platforms such as Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram 
  • Excellent design and layout skills
  • Experience creating vectors, logos, branding 
  • Ability to work independently and complete assigned tasks within identiļ¬ed time frames 
  • Ability to take direction and constructive feedback 
  • Nimble and flexible in art direction/designs

Requirements:

  • College student (Junior or Senior preferred) enrolled in a Graphic Design related field of study and able to work during the school year 
  • Compelling portfolio of graphic design work 
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, HTML, illustration, photography, and social media 
  • Experience with web and/or print design. 
  • Animation and video experience desired. 
  • Team player with positive and proactive attitude 
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills 
  • Ability to work remotely and occasionally in the office (Minneapolis location)
