The Graphic Design Specialist is responsible for the execution and management of consistent, clear and impactful creative assets that support the Rogers’ brand and organizational initiatives. Under the direction of the Web Development and Graphic Design Supervisor, this individual creates a variety of branded visual assets including print collateral, website assets, advertisements, email templates, and other branded materials. This role also provides email marketing design and execution support. He/she will use a combination of creative, design and technology skills to edit photography and designed templates, participate in photoshoots, manage digital assets, and serve as a collaborative partner with internal teams, external vendors, and agency partners.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

In collaboration with the Web Development and Graphic Design Supervisor, you will assist in the creation of visually appealing design solutions for internal and external marketing and communications projects including, but not limited to: Collateral (brochures posters, banners, fliers, invitations), Advertising (print and digital), Social media, E-newsletters and email campaigns, Website graphics, Templated materials, Conference materials, Specialty items including promotional items and t-shirts.

  • Participate in brainstorming sessions to generate creative ideas and concepts. 
  • Edit and retouch images to enhance visual quality. 
  • Apply understanding of design techniques and principles to assist in the creation quality visual assets. Includes knowledge of layout principles and aesthetic design within graphic standards. 
  • Under the supervision of department leadership, collaborates and coordinate projects on behalf of Rogers with external printers, mail houses, ad agencies, freelance graphic artists, photographers, etc., as needed. 
  • In collaboration with the marketing and communications team, manage updates to existing materials and manages materials for Rogers’ online print store. 
  • Supports the scheduling and coordination of headshots and assist with on location photoshoots.
  • Catalogs and manages photo assets for the department including development of a digital asset management tool.

Brand

  • Partners with Web Development and Graphic Design Supervisor and department leadership to manage brand consistency and salience across the organization. 
  • Maintain graphic standards in all communications. 
  • Maintain brand guidelines in print or on the web. 
  • Assists with updates to brand identity and architecture and coordinates implementation.

Relationship marketing support

  • In partnership with team members, assists in the management of email campaigns and related databases. 
  • Designs templates and publishes email campaigns 
  • Monitors campaign stats and recommends adjustments 
  • Provides database support which integrates with marketing campaigns

Project management

  • Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines, and project requirements. 
  • Works cooperatively with marketing and communications team to effectively design and produce materials. 
  • Receive and implement feedback from team members and internal audience to refine designs and achieve desired outcomes.

Education/Training Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, fine arts, marketing, or related field preferred, and 2+ years of related experience. 
  • Proficiency in Creative Cloud including Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign. Some experience with other design tools such as Canva. 
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office. 
  • Familiarity with web design principles and basic knowledge of HTML/CSS preferred but not required. 
  • Proficiency in writing and editing text. 
  • Ability to complete projects in a timely manner with a quality product 
  • Manage multiple projects within design specifications and budget restrictions 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • A portfolio showcasing your design skills and creativity.
