CIS is looking for a full-time or a half-time, versatile graphic designer and marketing support who not only excels in integrating digital assets and raising brand awareness through social media, but also possesses strong skills to assist in our marketing efforts through formatting proposals, reports, and presentations. Working with our team of leading urban resilience professionals working on some of the most progressive, large-scale projects across the nation, you will be responsible for helping further position CIS in the broader, national market.

You will report to the Managing Director of CIS Advisory Services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Digital Strategy: Responsible for creating, curating, and managing engaging content across various social platforms to enhance our brand's online presence and foster meaningful audience interactions. Utilize analytics and trends to optimize strategies and ensure cohesive messaging aligns with the brand's identity.
  • Branding and Communication: Ensure consistent branding and messaging across various marketing channels. Create and maintain marketing collateral, including project sheets, statement of qualifications, and presentations. Coordinate with graphic designers and copywriters to develop compelling materials.
  • Community Engagement: Foster meaningful online interactions by responding to comments, messages, and reviews. Monitor trends and conversations to adapt strategies and maintain a positive brand image.
  • Analytics and Reporting: Utilize analytics tools to track social media performance metrics, providing regular insights and progress reports. Apply data-driven insights to refine strategies and showcase the effectiveness of campaigns and proposals.
  • Internal Coordination: Collaborate with CIS staff, to gather information for marketing purposes. Coordinate with different departments to ensure marketing initiatives are aligned with project timelines and objectives.

What You Will Need:

  • Enthusiasm to work within a collaborative, interdisciplinary team comprised of progressive urban greening experts to make positive and impactful change across communities through careful implementation of climate resilient, green best practices 
  • Undergraduate degree in graphic design 
  • Advanced skills in all or some of the following: Microsoft Office Suite and software tools to create and manipulate visual content such as Adobe Creative Suite/InDesign, CorelDRAW Graphics Suite, GIMP, etc 
  • Ability to work effectively on short turn around assignments and tight deadlines 
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously 
  • Experience with ESG and sustainability reporting is preferred 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills 
  • Ability to work independent of others 
  • Ability to develop strong interpersonal relationships 
  • Ability to travel as needed 
  • Valid driver’s license required

Position Location Requirements:

  • Preference is for candidates located in greater Milwaukee, Seattle, Washington DC, and Ann Arbor regions, but candidates can be remote. 
  • The candidate should anticipate approximately 5% travel time throughout the year.

The anticipated pay range for this position is $55k to $65k; however, base pay is flexible and may vary depending on skills, experience, job-related knowledge, and location. This position is also eligible for a discretionary performance incentive.
