Department: Bethany House Publishers and Chosen Books

Reports To: Associate Creative Director

Position Type: Regular Full-Time, Non-Exempt

Location: Baker Publishing Group, 14000 Hampshire Ave. S., Bloomington, MN 55438


Create marketing assets for promotion of Bethany House and Chosen titles. These assets will be used by our marketing team and authors. The person in this position will also be involved with book cover designs when availability allows.


  • Work closely with Marketing Directors and Marketing Managers to develop comprehensive digital design strategy for each title including but not limited to sharable graphics such as memes, social media headers, e-newsletter templates, PDF downloads, ads (both digital and print), website leader banners, and print collateral such as bookmarks, postcards, and retractable banners. 
  • Creation of landing pages using an online site like Mailchimp or Squarespace GIF and video short creation abilities a strong plus. 
  • Exemplary understanding of social media as it relates to all digital assets and their function; forward-thinking and attuned to industry trends. Willingness to work with marketing director and managers to stay on trend, aspires to set trends and try new things. 
  • Explore product photography solutions for marketing work 
  • Creation of cover design and bringing those projects all the way to printer-ready files. 
  • Ability to work effectively on many projects at one time. 
  • Assist teammates and authors with creative thinking and brainstorming sessions.


  • A desire to keep growing and learning in what is current in marketing / cover design. 
  • Interest in many areas of publishing. 
  • Interested in many areas of design. Print, digital, social media, Mailchimp, motion graphics, short video, book covers and anything new that may come along. The candidate doesn’t need to be an expert in any of these, just open to how these areas may be useful (and possible) for our company. 
  • Show an ability to a be self-motivated self-starter and able to meet deadlines while in a hybrid working environment.


  • Superior proficiency in the Adobe Creative Suite 
  • Highly collaborative and able to handle constructive feedback, requests for revisions from managers and authors (a thick skin)
