Graphic Designer
Northern Illinois
Downers Grove or Remote, IL


To translate the marketing and merchandising vision for the brand into a functional, customer centric web experience and to work closely with people inside and outside the creative department to define and deliver the most effective solutions for driving business growth.


Design strategic visual concepts using photography, illustration, typography, video, motion, and other elements for FTD and Proflowers.

Engage collaboratively with channel team members to transform brand needs into brilliant design strategies.

Preserve, evolve and enforce brand standards and brand guidelines for the FTD and Proflowers brands.

Utilize creative storytelling to communicate strategic brand and marketing ideas across multiple channels.

Inspire and guide the work of external photographers, illustrators, freelancer designers and artists to create compelling brand narratives, being aware of contemporary trends in design and popular culture.

Work with external agencies and vendors on creating campaign assets that respect our brand guidelines.

Create and update emails, online banners, landing pages, print pieces and other media.

Prioritize and manage a diverse workload.

  • Maintain and organize asset libraries. 
  • Participate in brainstorming and high-level kickoff meetings to develop innovative solutions. 
  • Bring and pitch ideas to the Creative Director and internal and external clients. 
  • Identify, implement, streamline and maintain efficient processes and procedures that will increase productivity and quality of creative deliverables. 
  • Follow and advise on design, lifestyle, decor, fashion and gifting trends. 
  • Maintain a command of the creative requirements for marketing communications including: online media, branding standards, interactive media and print collateral.


  • Bachelor's degree in Digital Design or related field; or five years related experience and/or training working at an advertising agency, web design firm, ecommerce company or design shop; or equivalent combination. 
  • Previous Direct to Consumer (D2C) experience, fluent in all channels that an ecommerce brand operates in. 
  • Advanced knowledge of InDesign, Photoshop and XD; Adobe Creative Suite 
  • Knowledge of motion graphics/HTML5 is a plus 
  • Intermediate understanding of HTML, DHTML, CSS, XML, JavaScript, ActionScript and the requirements they place upon design. 
  • Familiarity with User Experience Design principles. 
  • A deep understanding and passion for the fundamental design discipline and principles. 
  • Strong typographic and design skills with an ability to create clean, modern design with a contemporary aesthetic. 
  • Ability to translate verbal direction into sophisticated, exciting & communicative designs. 
  • Ability to bring campaign visions to successful execution across website, email, display ads, social and print. 
  • Solid understanding of cross-browser/platform issues and knowledgeable in the development tradeoffs between speed, design, flexibility and underlying page architecture. 
  • Strong understanding of the importance of brand standards and the necessity of marinating those standards in creative executions for various marketing strategy. 
  • Familiarity with SEO best practices and web technology protocols. 
  • Ability to work collaboratively with various business channels to provide creative solutions that meet channel objectives and drive business growth. 
  • Self-directed with ability to manage projects from concept to completion. 
  • Multi-tasking and problem-solving skills to effectively and efficiently manage multiple projects with strained and/or similar deadlines. 
  • Ability to work on rapid development projects as well as longer-term projects. 
  • Willingness to do production work necessary to complete vision 
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills; smart communicator. 
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, virtual environment requiring self-motivation, and adaptability. 
  • Very well organized with exceptional attention to detail.
