Produce high quality marketing materials, including digital (e-mail, web pages, graphics for social posts, etc.) and print (sales collateral, tradeshow materials, catalogs, signage, etc.), ensuring brand consistency and message clarity. The objective of the marketing team is to support sales team efforts and generate new business for the 6 business segments of Genuine Cable Group, a leading provider of wire, cable and related items to a diverse group of industries, including telecommunications, construction, the auto industry and the U.S. military. Balancing creative thinking with analytical skills, this associate will work with the team to successfully translate concepts into visual expression to drive customer engagement.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Understand fully the brand perception of the individual business segments; ensure that all marketing materials align with those perceptions and match branding guidelines 
  • Meet with internal “customers” (Segment leaders, sales leaders, sales representatives) to clarify objectives for materials needed and to collect necessary elements, from the internal customer or other sources 
  • Meet with marketing leader to clarify objectives for marketing-generated activities 
  • Utilize graphic design software, e-mail software, web editing and other tools to create drafts 
  • Utilize design “eye” and graphics techniques to produce appealing materials, where the design complements and emphasizes the message 
  • Produce and present drafts for review and edit 
  • Make edits and return for review until finalized 
  • Produce final, approved materials and prepare for publication or distribution 
  • Maintain high quality work while completing work on schedule 
  • Contribute ideas for improving marketing activities and increasing efficiency in processes 
  • Maintain technical knowledge by attending design workshops; reviewing professional publications; and participating in professional societies.

Qualifications/Skills:

  • Excellent communication skills, and particularly listening skills 
  • Strong eye for design, and graphic design skills 
  • Experience with latest graphics software, e-mail software and other related programs 
  • Attention to detail 
  • Excellent time-management skills 
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment and meet deadlines

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in fine arts, graphic design or a related discipline, or equivalent experience 
  • Five to eight years of experience in graphic design 
  • Proficient with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat Pro) and Microsoft Office. 
  • Photography/Video editing experience preferred 
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and to troubleshoot problems 
  • Ability to estimate time, materials and approximate costs for various jobs 
  • Ability to prioritize work and perform with relative independence
