PRIMARY PURPOSE OF YOUR ROLE

The primary purpose of the Graphic Designer is to translate business strategies into creative executions and oversee design projects from concept to completion. With the leadership of the Director of Creative and Integrated Marketing and collaboration with the Creative Team, you will be responsible for designing original ideas to support the United Way brand and messaging.

ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES

Responsibilities include creating compelling designs, campaigns, and layouts spanning print, digital and physical spaces (70%), project and vendor management (20%) and design trends analysis (10%).

  • A champion and contributor of the evolving GTCUW brand, supporting its mission, vision and strategies.
  • Under the direction of the Creative Team Manager, provides original branded design concepts from ideas to completion for United Way materials, inclusive of print, digital, and corresponding social media touchpoints.
  • As a key member of the Marketing team, this individual will collaborate closely with the entire creative team to provide thought leadership and concept facilitation as well as creating bold, breakthrough campaign creative to reach the United Way audience(s).
  • Bring the outside world in by understanding non-profit products/services, creative and messaging landscape.

COMPETENCIES THAT SUPPORT YOUR WORK

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, preferably with a design or visual communication-related focus area. 
  • 4+ years of agency or graphic design experience.
  • Expert in Adobe Creative Suite, InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Creative thinker with knowledge of principles of design and color theory
  • Excellent oral, written, and communication skills
  • Experience in a matrix environment; ability to proactively manage workload and execute against multiple priorities with on-time completion
  • Keen attention to detail and proven ability to problem-solve
  • Understands internal clients’ needs and how to communicate creative strategies and creative solutions effectively
  • Curious and learns quickly; able to accept direction
  • Keeps pace with the industry, creative and cultural trends and how to apply appropriately to marketing materials
