The Graphic Designer will be responsible for producing the visual elements for client programs: content, research, digital advertising, demand generation/account-based marketing, and websites and landing pages. The ideal candidate will be a skilled graphic designer who can work on tight deadlines to create visually engaging program elements that capture the style of our anchor sites/brands – HIMSS, Healthcare IT News, MobiHealthNews and Healthcare Finance News – while meeting the client’s key performance indicators. Visual elements include designing: content assets (eBooks, whitepapers, infographics, case studies), research reports (PowerPoint Reports, charts), digital ads for brands, and motion graphics for videos.

The things that you will tackle:

  • Supports building HIMSS as a strong, innovative, modern brand through the consistent development of visual materials that align within its brand guidelines and templates 
  • Design and produce multiple marketing pieces on behalf of leading global clients, including content assets, research reports, landing pages, microsites, email, digital ads units, social images, motion graphics 
  • Studies and works from client program requirements to develop top-notch creative within HIMSS brand guidelines 
  • Develops graphics and layouts for sales collateral and mock ups 
  • Understands UX and translate storytelling to immersive, interactive and engaging designs 
  • Thinks motion-first and contributes creative input on visuals to branded video campaigns 
  • Fluid in designing animated GIFs and other motion graphics products 
  • Obtains client approval of concept by submitting rough layout for approval. 
  • Prepares finished designs for deployment through various channels 
  • Collaborative and willing to contribute to larger team goals when asked. 
  • Works with the leaderships to analyze performance metrics of ad units, landing pages, email templates, websites, to understand ROI of efforts and identify opportunities for growth 
  • Other duties as assigned

What you will need to be successful:

  • Bachelor of Arts degree in Graphics Design or related field 
  • 2+ years of experience in graphic design, ideally in the advertising field 
  • Strong portfolio of motion graphics and video editing ability 
  • Possesses knowledge of digital design best practices 
  • Results oriented based on data 
  • Video/Motion Graphics experience a plus 
  • Must have a customer focus 
  • Experienced to receive constructive criticism and pivot 
  • Must be detail oriented and work well under pressure 
  • Works well with a team 
  • Experience with graphic design tools including Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator InDesign and Flash; HTML 5, CSS, After Effects, Final Cut, Ceros.
