Overview:

We are seeking a Graphic Designer that will support Levy’s Strategy & Creative Group with the creative needs of 100+ sports, entertainment & restaurant venues nationwide. We are looking for a creative thinker who can adapt aesthetically to meet the diverse needs of our clients and the brands we represent, and is able to work well both independently and within a multi-disciplinary collaborative team. An excellent communicator, the ideal candidate strongly articulates their refined design strategies both visually and verbally, is well-versed in the technical nuances of the Adobe Creative Suite and is comfortable in a range of design mediums from layout to branding and environmental graphics.

You will get to define and visualize future experiences (physical and digital) for the hundreds of thousands of people who visit and work in our premier sports, entertainment and retail venues such as United Center, Wrigley Field, Walt Disney World Resort, American Girl Place, the Kentucky Derby and many others. The role is based at Levy’s cutting-edge collaborative design space located on Chicago’s Magnificent Mile. This role will report to Levy’s VP of Experience Design and Innovation.

Accountabilities:

Marketing & Communications Collateral

  • Create highly visual and impactful collateral design strategies that inspire consumer purchase decisions

Branding

  • Identity systems for a range of internal Levy programs and external client needs

Production Design

  • Execute design strategies within the framework of existing branding campaigns

Environmental Branding

  • Developing branding campaigns applicable for both signage and other 3D environmental graphics

Presentation Design

  • Creation of compelling layouts that sell design programs and support new business initiatives

Foster Collaborative, User-Centered Design Processes

  • Work in collaboration with the team to ensure that processes, presentations and informal interactions with project stakeholders are consistently collaborative, engaging and enlightening
  • Ensure that user needs and design research findings have directly impacted all outputs and processes

Promote Culture of Design at Levy

  • Work in collaboration with VP of Experience Design to develop tools, collaboration models and training modules that promote
  • Design as a mindset and process vs an output, with the ongoing goal of building an internal Experience Design practice at Levy
  • Build enthusiasm toward Experience Design approaches in all interactions Strategy + Creative Group, Operations and external clients
  • Reflect graphic design excellence and best practices in all presentations and design artifacts
  • Continually seek to “up our game” by advising VP and team members on graphic design technologies, processes, applications and best practices

Requirements:

  • Obvious & contagious passion for great experience design, graphic design and Levy Restaurants 
  • Passion for content and graphic story telling. Ability to use graphic design in a way that clarifies and elevates concepts, narratives and presentations 
  • Can demonstrate exceptional communication abilities 
  • Experience and enthusiasm toward Design Thinking approaches and methods 
  • Ability to think and design across various media and applications 
  • Highly knowledgeable of print and digital production processes 
  • Inherently curious and able to draw connections between disparate topics and observations 
  • Highly collaborative, with ability serve as a champion for the end-user for internal and external stakeholders through ideation, design and implementation 
  • Ability to work and execute independently, proactively communicating with the VP and other team members to clarify outcomes as needed. 
  • Ability to thrive in the face of the ambiguity that occurs within an innovation-focused design process, where project outcomes must be continually reframed and clarified 
  • 2-4 years of experience in a design firm, consultancy or agency 
  • Experience working within a multi-disciplinary team of designers and design thinkers
