Marklund is seeking a highly motivated and mission-centered individual for the position of Graphic Designer. This is a full-time position based out of our Geneva facility.

Who We Are:

Marklund is a nonprofit organization that provides residential, educational and therapy services to infants, children, teens and adults with serious and profound developmental disabilities and special healthcare needs. With three residential locations – the Marklund Hyde Center in Geneva, the Marklund Philip Center in Bloomingdale, and the Marklund Wasmond Center in Elgin, it is currently home to nearly 178 residents. The Marklund Day School offers Multi-Needs and Life Skills programs for children and young adults with multiple medical needs, and those diagnosed on the autism spectrum. In addition, our Community Day Services program at each site is a therapeutic day program for adults who reside at Marklund and those who come in from the community.

Graphic Designer
Northern Illinois
Geneva, IL

Position Overview:

As part of the Marketing & Communications Department, the Graphic Designer should be able to design marketing collateral for print and digital materials following all branding guidelines and standards in support of Marklund’s various services and programs.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Utilizes graphic design/art skills to create marketing and fundraising materials, newsletters, ads, web pages and email blasts. 
  • Makes graphic and content updates to Marklund website. 
  • Provides print specs to printers and uploads materials to printer websites. 
  • Assists the Director of Marketing & Communications in Public Relations campaigns. 
  • Assists in design concept for campaigns. 
  • Creates PowerPoint presentations. 
  • Edits and organizes photos. 
  • Attends and assists at special events.

  • Daily temperature checks and screenings for everyone who enters any one of our buildings

  • Regular cleaning of frequently used objects

Experience and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design, Public Relations, Communications or related field preferred. 
  • Five years of work experience in Graphic Design, Public Relations or related field preferred.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Suite software and WordPress platform. 
  • Ability to work on both Mac and PC computers. 
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office software. 
  • Excellent design and creativity skills. 
  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job and to meet its functional and environmental requirements
