PBS Wisconsin is searching for two creative and collaborative Graphic Designers to join our Design Department. One full-time position will have a primary focus on establishing project art direction and visual brand identity. The other full-time position will be focused on designing pieces within an already established art direction or brand identity. Placement in either position will be based on relevant experience. Reporting to the Creative Manager, the Graphic Designers are responsible for the conceptualization and design of production materials, promotional collateral, environmental graphics, social media, web and marketing assets across platforms. The Graphic Designers are key to advancing the mission of PBS Wisconsin through high-quality visual design and work with an award-winning creative team.

Responsibilities:

Conceptualizes, plans, and executes digital and/or print design to support the strategic objectives of the institution; creates on-brand, compelling visual assets used to inform, educate, inspire, and/or persuade.

40% - Creates, designs, and produces artwork per project specifications through various mediums

  5% - Analyzes and identifies cost effective options to meet project requirements

10% - Schedules logistics, secures resources, organizes, and monitors art production projects adhering to established timelines and expectations

  5% - Answers questions and provides information and problem resolution options to clients and stakeholders

10% - Applies creative expertise within established brand and style guidelines

30%  - Works collaboratively with other creative professionals, engages in and responds to creative feedback, manages project workflow and timing, maintains files, and follows established work unit processes

Required:

  • Demonstrable professional experience with multimedia and print design
  • Experience with Adobe InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Excellent hands-on design skills and abilities, including layout, color, typography, and design theory
  • Experience working with photography assets. Must be demonstrated in work samples.
  • Evidence of strong communication skills and team collaboration. 

Preferred:

  • Experience with Adobe After Effects and motion graphics
  • Experience with accessible design standards
  • Experience designing for social media and web environments
  • Experience in a fast-paced work environment
  • Experience directing photography shoots
  • Ability to create original illustrations
  • Experience art directing other designers
