We are looking for a versatile, highly conceptual, detail-oriented, Graphic Designer to join our Vernon Hills-based marketing team. You have an opportunity to make a significant impact at BCU and in your career. In this role, you’ll collaborate closely with the entire Marketing team (Creative, Communications and Campaign/Web), and partners across the business, to strengthen the brand and support the growth and expansion of company products and services.

What you'll be doing:

What's a typical day look like for a Designer? There’s no typical day, and no day is ever boring. Your days may vary between assisting the team with a creative concept, developing a promotional animation, designing highly emotive visual content, and creating engaging pages for our website. You'll be responsible for designing solutions and bringing experiences to life across multiple mediums.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assist the creative team in designing in-house marketing from concept through production for campaigns, events, videos, animations, and corporate communications 
  • Assist in managing all brand assets both external and internal, including brand standards and visual identity 
  • Collaborate with marketing, product owners and various internal teams to support business objectives 
  • Work cross-functionally within the organization and ensure brand compliance among all assets, including collateral, presentations, signage, promotional items, communications, campaigns, events, etc. 
  • Uphold our "internal agency" process and expectations for quality, consistency, and timeliness of deliverables 
  • Collaborate with the team to solidify visual standards, design expectations, and brand consistency

What we are looking for from you:

  • 3+ years of experience in design, either client-side or with an agency 
  • Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design or Multimedia Design 
  • Demonstrated passion for marketing, design, and digital technology 
  • Highly Proficient in Adobe After Effects, including creating animations 
  • Routine and recent proficiency with Creative Suite including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign 
  • A solid understanding of UX and website design 
  • Working knowledge of video editing software (Final Cut Pro X or Adobe Premiere) 
  • Working knowledge of HTML/CSS a plus 
  • An amazing portfolio of past design work, including animations 
  • Strong attention to visual detail and exceptional proofreading skills.
