Group Account Director

As a Group Account Director at SixSpeed, you will play a lead role in pursuing our goal of always being our clients’ most valuable agency. As the agency’s only Group Director, you will have the day-to-day responsibility of managing our account department, maintaining healthy client relationships, both personally and financially, and continuing to sharpen our marketing acumen across a brand’s total ecosystem. We are looking for a confident yet humble leader to help us take our account department, and its people, to the next level.


  • Build and maintain strong active relationships with senior level clients on our largest accounts for the purpose of growth, sell-in and effective delivery of strategic solutions 
  • Implement processes, roles and responsibilities, and behaviors within an organization that can improve outcomes and employee satisfaction 
  • Oversee client budget management and sets price and willingness to pay 
  • Establish and maintain credibility and leadership with the client through strategic thinking and the use of sound judgment when solving problems 
  • Lead team to offer new solutions, creative problem-solving and conflict resolution 
  • Proactively look for opportunities and offerings to deepen existing client relationships 
  • Network and actively source new client relationships

Account Management

  • Develop internal, annual client plans that result in high levels of client satisfaction, leading to healthy businesses and happy, successful employees 
  • Share client business information so that the entire team has the appropriate understanding of client information and knowledge 
  • Deeply understand and apply business, client and marketing expertise to create solutions and proactive thought leadership

Process Management

  • Work in tandem with management team to ensure processes are defined and followed by internal team and clients 
  • Oversee development of proposals, scope of work documents, and estimates 
  • Lead strategic planning and thought leadership with internal team and clients

Team Growth and Management

  • Responsible for managing and growing direct reports 
  • Provide leadership and foster motivation in the account team 
  • Convey the vision and values of SixSpeed


  • You have 15-20 years experience in the marketing/advertising and agency realm 
  • You’re always thinking about what’s next and determined to find a way 
  • You’re obsessed with asking questions and digging deeper 
  • You’re a natural with being a trusted partner, building and maintaining relationships 
  • You are passionate about building brands and finding new opportunities for them to grow 
  • You have a natural sense of urgency and work well under pressure 
  • You’re comfortable in almost any situation

  • Proven leader with multiple client relationships and internal teams 
  • Master of having strategic conversations with clients to drive the business

  • Excellent financial acumen and ability to teach and lead team members to manage account forecast and financials 
  • High level of understanding of business and marketing and has a strong ability to apply strategic business recommendations – as well as teach and lead the team to grow and develop marketing acumen
