The festival features over 1,000 performances on 12 permanent stages, along with food, beverages, and activities, all in a world-class festival setting. The 2022 edition will take place over three weekends June 23-25, June 30-July 2, and July 7-9.

The Guest Relations Supervisor is the primary contact for all inquiries, acts as the office receptionist, handles office supplies, mail, charitable donation requests, and assists with the hiring, training, and management of seasonal employees, for the front office at the corporate headquarters and Summerfest Guest Services. Additionally, this position will also assist with scheduling and organizing board meetings. In order to comply with the vaccine mandate, MWF will require you to respond to questions regarding your vaccination status, as part of the application process.

Primarily to supervise administrative activities and manage front office operations, and to support all Milwaukee World Festival, Inc. (“MWF”) departments, including the following:

  • Manage the front office reception operations.
  • Manage all office supply ordering and tracking.
  • Supply and maintain mailroom, handling incoming and outgoing mail, Fedex, and UPS.
  • Review and respond to requests for donations to other charitable organizations.
  • Advertise, interview, hire, train and supervise seasonal employees to work at the front desk and Summerfest Guest Services during the festival season.
  • Monitor conference room use and assist in the organization of rooms for various meetings, including supervising room configuration, stocking of refreshments, and cleanup.
  • Assist supervisor in preparation of department budgets.
  • Assist supervisor with file opening and organization.
  • Manage Summerfest Guest Services, including handling customer comments and complaints.
  • Communicate clearly, effectively, and professionally.
  • Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
  • Supervise the filing and maintenance of certificates of insurance, contracts, and other records.
  • Maintain a safe, positive, and productive work environment and ensure this intent is communicated and adhered to by all subordinates.
  • Work with other departments in implementing contingency, continuity, and recovery plans.
  • Communicate relevant information to department and others within the company within a timely manner through proper channels.
  • Continually strive for improved means and methods toward department management, including giving and receiving feedback from colleagues, subordinates, and upper management.
  • Maintain a positive, cooperative, team-oriented attitude and abide by all MWF Human Resources and Legal policies toward treatment of all MWF employees.
  • Complete all duties otherwise assigned.

  • Three (3) years of relevant management experience in a similar position or retail environment.
  • Ability to resolve complex customer service and conflict management issues.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage various projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communications skills.
  • Functional knowledge of the special event business.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • A clear understanding of the discretion required for this position.

  • Competent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently without supervision, be self-directed, and demonstrate initiative.

Education, and/or Experience:

  • College degree, some college/technical school.
  • A high school diploma and five (5) or more years of relevant experience in a similar position is an option.
  • Ability to consistently project a positive image on behalf of the company.
  • Competent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently without supervision, be self-directed, and demonstrate initiative.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others for whom you have no direct supervisory authority.
  • Strong teamwork and team synergy skills.

  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Ability to operate a golf cart type of vehicle during the festival season.
  • Experience with event production business is a plus.
  • Experience with customer service and training and management of new employees is a plus.
