Job Summary:

This leader will play a critical role in leading the marketing of Fresenius Kabi’s first Oncology biosimilar, building the Oncology biosimilar portfolio of products, and helping grow Fresenius Kabi’s overall biosimilar business, a key priority focus area for the company. This role will require a robust understanding of the marketplace dynamics for Oncology as well as the biosimilar market (including payer, GPO, provider, clinic, and hospital dynamics, contracting and pricing), as well as deep experience in traditional marketing strategy & promotional activities to make biosimilars successful in a non-traditional approach, to bring the best care, affordability, and access to patients.

Responsibilities:

  • Build, lead and coach a Marketing team focused on the healthcare professional (HCP) and patient/consumer audiences, to develop, launch and manage effective marketing customer-centric strategies, plans and content. 
  • Lead development and execution of US marketing vision, brand strategy, strategic plan, positioning, messaging and campaigns to challenge status quo treatment of Oncology patients. Work with medical affairs to ensure appropriate staging of scientific messaging to redefine the disease state. 
  • Lead congress activities, KOL engagement strategy, Ad boards / speaker bureau activities. 
  • Lead marketing / launch excellence approach (including targeting, segmentation), digital & multi-channel marketing activities. 
  • Collaborate with sales training to ensure effective and influential training on calls, promotional tools and materials. 
  • Lead field engagement to ensure creation and flawless roll out of high impact, high value marketing and contracting tools that drive appropriate use of the brand. 
  • Lead competitive readiness activities. 
  • Contribute to the Market Access strategic launch plan. 
  • Lead / work with cross functional teams including global marketing, regulatory, legal, medical communications, medical, market research, market access, business analysis, supply chain, contracting and pricing, sales operations and sales training teams. 
  • Lead / collaborate with multiple external vendors (ad agency, meeting planners, market research, consultants), and brand strategy to further build Oncology portfolio and its assets.
  • Lead projects through the legal, regulatory, and medical review process. 
  • Lead presentations to senior leadership. 
  • Support sales meeting planning and execution. 
  • Oversee forecasts, budgets, and provide accurate estimates/accruals. 
  • Post launch, review and assess performance, sales / commercial supply forecasts and annual plans.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; advanced science or business degree (e.g. PharmD, PhD, MBA) is preferred. 
  • 12+ years Pharma marketing experience with at least 5 years US Oncology marketing experience. 
  • Experience leading / managing marketing teams and cross-functional teams. 
  • Experience launching products in extremely competitive marketplace. 
  • Oncology sales experience. 
  • High-level strategic thinking with the ability to concisely translate complex scientific topics to a wide range of audiences. 
  • Forward-thinking, ability to lead and influence multi-disciplinary teams.
