Design Center is hiring an Interactive Designer in our St. Paul, MN office.

Design Center, Inc. is looking for an Interactive Designer to understand the customer need and design software solutions that are easy to use and provide a highly engaging experience. We are looking for someone focused on strategic vision who drives great execution. The main function of this role is to create meaningful and cohesive end-to-end experiences through a deep understanding of our customers and exceptional design execution. You will help us define all aspects of our projects: user flow, core UI elements and interaction patterns and intuitive visual design. Design Center is seeking an Interactive Designer who can excite and inspire cross functional teams to prioritize the user in the work that they do. The Senior UX Designer plays a critical role in mentoring UX Designers and other agile team members to ensure we are creating market-leading experiences and grow future talent within the agile teams.


  • Create user-centered designs by understanding business requirements, voice of the customer, personas and user journeys, customer feedback and usability findings – all within budget. 
  • Design app & web interfaces that will bring an exceptional and consistent user experience across multiple digital platforms. 
  • Monitor industry best practices, trends and new technologies and evaluate them for possible adoption. 
  • Identify areas of efficiency within Design Center’s UX practices (pattern & style libraries, knowledge sharing, etc.) and help implement & maintain these practices. 
  • Contribute to Design Center’s overall strategy to become a UX leader in the Twin Cities, and be seen as a thought leader within the UX online community.


  • 3-5 years of experience designing complex UX solutions for complete digital environments including mobile and responsive design, software/app development, and other digital channels. 
  • Facilitate the product owner’s vision by researching, conceiving, sketching, prototyping and user testing proposed experiences for digital products. 
  • Proven ability to advocate strongly for both the needs of the end-user, as well as the business needs of our wide range of clients, using research and data as the driver of your design decisions. 
  • Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal and analytical skills, including the ability to clearly communicate complex, interactive design concepts to influence different audiences. 
  • Up-to-date knowledge of UX/Interaction Design guidelines for iOS and Android. 
  • Ability to work on many projects and teams in parallel. 
  • Demonstrated success working in a collaborative & Agile team environment, directly with developers, for implementation of the design. 
  • Experience with front end development, HTML & CSS skills are a plus.
