Twin Cities PBS is seeking a part-time, intermittent Production Assistant with strong cultural competencies, interpersonal skills, and attention to detail to assist our Minnesota Media Group in the production and delivery of a special production, Bring Her Home (w.t.), focused on the crisis of missing and murdered Indigenous women in the Midwest. This position requires some evening and weekend availability, as well as access to reliable transportation for off-site production needs.

  • Assists associate producers and producers in research, pre-production, production, and distribution of multimedia projects with a diverse group of departments, partners and communities. 
  • Provides on-location production support for single- and multi-camera field shoots during business, evening and occasionally over weekend hours. 
  • Ensures media production work and communication is of the highest quality and delivered in a timely manner that meets all grant expectations. 
  • Maintains paperwork and files in an organized manner along with accurate record keeping meeting various editorial and legal requirements. 
  • Collects and organizes releases. 
  • Administers database of production records, performing data entry and maintenance of data. 
  • Attend field production shoots and assist in capturing behind the scene’s experiences. 
  • Assemble online article content as needed. 
  • Provides administrative support to all areas of the department. 
  • Assists in the creation of social media, as needed.
  • 1 - 2 years of production assistant experience or equivalent media production experience. 
  • Experience working with Indigenous communities is required. 
  • Experience with SLR digital camera required. 
  • Exceptional computer application skills including Microsoft Office and Social Media platforms. 
  • Ability to work independently, be organized, establish priorities, and manage time effectively. 
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills that foster positive and productive cross-functional working relationships with both internal and external partners. 
  • Exceptional attention to detail. 
  • Able to successfully and professionally operate in an unpredictable, fast-paced environment with a wide range of tasks to meet short notice and shifting deadlines. 
  • Strong creative problem-solving skills. 
  • Familiarity with WordPress and APA writing a plus!

This grant position has a fixed term of up to 130 hours at a rate of $17.90/hour.
