Internal Communications Consultant - Remote/Hybrid


The Internal Communications Consultant leads and executes efforts to advance the ThedaCare mission by enhancing pride and advocacy among team members. Serves as Communications partner with Director of Strategic Communications, system and service line leaders to consult, create and execute strategic system-wide or targeted internal communications. Manages internal communications to ensure key messages align with target audience and desired outcomes. Ensures awareness, understanding and inspiration of the direction of organization. Shares the impact of our mission and human triumph of our patients and expert caregivers.

  • Leads and executes strategic communications plans that align with strategic communications and operational goals. 
  • Works collaboratively to build strong relationships inside the organization to become a trusted advisor and communications partner to ThedaCare leaders. 
  • Drives improvement in team member and stakeholder engagement by creating and delivering timely, engaging and relevant communications content to targeted audiences. 
  • Advances the ThedaCare strategy by promoting ThedaCare as the not-for-profit healthcare system of our region and showcasing our commitment to creating a healthier community and reinvesting in the community. 
  • Drives results of ThedaCare stakeholder communications through willingness to learn and apply the latest communications trends, best practices and tools. Researches and implements news technologies to enhance engagement in communications. 
  • Builds awareness, belief and advocacy of ThedaCare by managing internal deployment of new brand. 
  • Work in partnership with Storytelling function in the development of sponsorship, event and news stories for internal and external channels. 
  • Serves as On Call contact for ThedaCare Communications, which includes rotating weekend and holiday shifts. Supports Incident Command and Crisis Communications as needed. 
  • Measures and promotes effectiveness of Stakeholder Communications efforts as relates to organization and department goals and adjusts to improve outcomes. 
  • Analyze and measure results.
  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, public relations, community relations, marketing or related field. 
  • Experience in working in a communications function within a corporate or healthcare environment.
