The Impact You’ll Make in this Role:

This position will develop executive internal communications plans and tactics to effectively communicate internal and external messaging for United States and Canada (USAC) 3M Health Care Business employees.

As an Internal Communications Senior Specialist, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

  • Develops and implements engaging communication strategies and tactics for 3M USAC Health Care employees. 
  • Drives authentic communications experiences for USAC Heath Care Business Group (HCBG) employees and reinforces HCBG communication narrative 
  • Builds internal communication plans including goals, stakeholder analysis, target audience segmentation, program branding, global alignment and communication tactics including social media. 
  • Implements communication plans that support achievement of 3M USAC Health Care goals and strategic direction. This includes development of messaging, presentations, and 3M employee and program communications that concisely and compellingly address business and organizational needs. 
  • Identifies opportunities for Group President and Division Leader to participate in Corporate, Area, Division and Function events 
  • Leads and develops engaging and impactful presentations including visuals and videos, partnering with Creative Services, as appropriate, to align with brand standards 
  • Leverage cross functional teams and subject matter experts to develop and deploy engaging content strategies and tactics to reach the target audience through various communications mediums. 
  • Organizes and conducts communication activities including, target audience research, designing/executing creative cross-media tactics (e.g.: executive town hall meetings, yammer, video, blogs, virtual events, events, executive Q&A, etc.) 
  • Partners cross-functionally with colleagues to ensure alignment of program communication execution.

Your Skills and Expertise:

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution 
  • Five (5) years of executive, business, or internal communications in a private, public, government or military environment

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in communications, public relations, business administration, or journalism (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution 
  • Seven (7) years of Corporate or Business Communications in a private, public, government, or military environment 
  • Strong collaboration skills are desired 
  • Ability to translate technical language into storytelling communication 
  • Ability to translate strategic plan into execution of detailed tactical Communication Plan 
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with ability to persuade others in matrix environment. 
  • Customer/client-centric mindset combined with contagious enthusiasm and passion
