The internal communications specialist/senior develops communications strategies and deliverables for initiatives that grow employee engagement and build understanding of cultural and business initiatives. You will engage with senior leaders and consults with and coaches them on communication strategies and tactics that will best achieve results. Not only do they create clear, compelling technical/business and human interest content, they also know how to appropriately scale their recommendations to balance competing organizational priorities. The specialist/senior develops strategic communication plans and implements them by writing and editing content using AP style, developing presentations, creating visual content and monitoring progress toward their business partners' desired objectives. They have experience managing large-scale meetings, including planning meeting content, developing PowerPoint slides that are visually appealing and concise, and managing event and speaker logistics. This role is part of the Internal Communications team and is accountable for supporting internal communications channels, including our intranet, onsite TVs, meetings and more. You will report to the Director of Internal Communications.

NOTE: This role must be able to demonstrate proficient design capabilities and strong expertise in PowerPoint.

What you do:

  • Strategic communications: Develop strategic communication plans for important partners (business/product, strategy, major change management campaigns, etc.). This includes developing and editing and culture building messaging, presentations and visual promotions. Tailor plans accordingly with consideration of the importance of the topic, whether employee action is required, how it supports our organizational strategy, etc. 
  • Writing/editing/design: Create clear, compelling technical/business and human interest content that appropriately balances competing organizational priorities. Distills complex topics into easy-to-understand, concise topics using AP style and visual design capabilities (e.g., Powerpoint designs/layout, etc.). Design content for visual communications vehicles (e.g., onsite TVs and signage, intranet graphics). 
  • Meeting management: Manage content and logistics for large-scale meetings/events. This includes organizing presenters, drafting and compiling content, ensuring Powerpoint materials are visually appealing and meet brand requirements, arranging for facilities/technology/meeting support requests, managing rehearsals and Q&A. 
  • Department processes: Support internal communications processes, including developing content, editorial calendar management, creating visual assets for digital signage, intranet and print needs, building intranet content in Sitecore, pulling Google analytics, etc. 
  • Relationship-building: Develop relationships with important leaders/team members to deliver strategic consultation and support. Use connections to enhance understanding of our business and their partners' priorities and to build trust and confidence in internal communications expertise. Operate as a strong team player, supporting colleagues and upholding our values in each interaction.

What you bring:

  • 5 years of experience required in a corporate or agency environment required. Design experience appreciated.
  • Four-year degree required in Communications, PR, English, Journalism or Marketing
