Internship Convention & Meeting Services

What the intern expects to learn from this assignment:

The intern will be able to learn about all elements that are part of putting together a citywide conference. Excellent opportunity for those looking to learn more about the hospitality industry.

What major projects or activities the intern will be involved with:

• Creation/updating National Conference meeting specification sheets to include menu planning, audio visual needs, updating edits. 
• Working with AAP Section Managers on their individual education programs and committee meetings. 
• Assist registration team to register attendees for National Conference. 
• Update AAP Staff Travel Packet. 
• Meeting logistics assistance for in-house, in person, and/or virtual meetings. 
• Assist with National Conference hotel block. 
• Work with outside vendors to execute staff orders 
• Organize materials and supplies for shipping. 
• Track staff travel information. 
• General event and conference support as needed. 
• General department filing and administrative duties. 
• Other duties as assigned.

Skills Needed:

Days/Hours:

• Approximate dates to be 6/1 – 9/15, 3 days a week ( 2 days in the office), 7.5 hours each day
