Position Details

Junior Art Director / Designer
Twin Cities Metro
Minneapolis, MN


This role is responsible for execution of brand/product design and marketing materials. In support one or more business units or segments, an incumbent is a practitioner and steward of design excellence and growth across a full spectrum of print and digital mediums.


  • Support. Support Senior Art Directors to roll-out product launch and enterprise and seasonal campaigns. 
  • Update and maintain. Basic photo editing abilities, such as removing simple objects from images, light retouching, outlining images, etc. Learn how to follow workplace process and practices.  
  • Develop. Create and update marketing materials across all Jostens Product Categories and marketing channels. 
  • Excitement. Interest to learn, absorb and experience best practices in web UI, social media, email and print. 
  • Strengthen. Demonstrate and show growth in creative consistency, accuracy and conceptual development. 
  • Help. Consistently complete design requests by set deadlines, with guidance from a Creative or Art Director.


  • Passion. Interest to learn, absorb and experience best practices across channels. 
  • Technical Skills. Fully knowledgeable in the use of the Macintosh as a key design tool. Fully knowledgeable and fluent in the use of Adobe CC: InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator. Adobe XD preferred. Preferred re-touching experience. 
  • Attention to detail. Ability to work on multiple jobs with flexibility, meeting quality objectives, deadlines and budgets.
  • Great communication Skills. Ability to conceptualize with a writer. Preferred agency experience.
  • Experience. 0-3 years’ experience as an art director or designer. Strong design abilities and portfolio. Preferred jewelry or apparel design experience. Preferred Adobe XD or Sketch experience. 
  • Education. A degree in commercial art, graphic design or equivalent combination of education and experience.
