Position Summary:

The Junior Graphic Designer will report to the Associate Creative Director of Art and serve as a key support to both the Associate Creative Director and the Graphic Design Operations Manager. This role plays an important part in the execution of a wide range of design projects and creative initiatives across the department. The ideal candidate will assist with social media graphics, printed and digital ads, logos, signage, posters, event materials, illustrations, and special projects. They will also provide backup support in the Graphic Design Operations Manager's absence and contribute to collaborative efforts on larger campaigns and deadlines. In addition to design responsibilities, the Junior Graphic Designer will support our photo/video team on various projects throughout the season.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Create assigned projects and produce in-the-moment graphics as required, such as event signage, invitations, ancillary pieces, event creative, social media graphics, and illustrations.
  • Play an active role in a dynamic creative team, assisting the Associate Creative Director of Art and the Graphic Design Operations Manager with projects that require a team effort.
  • Maintain a steady workflow for the creation of a season-long ad schedule and submit artwork internally in advance of deadlines for streamlined approvals.
  • Be adaptable and able to respond to the creative needs of the department, including photo editing, video projects, social media, event support, and more.
  • Work collaboratively with the Marketing & Communications team to enhance the customer experience and creatively sell tickets.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in various media and manual production techniques, including hand trimming and creating mock-ups for in-house printed materials.
  • Complete administrative tasks as assigned and perform other artistic duties as required.

Knowledge and Skills Required:

  • Possess an advanced working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Be fluent in Adobe After Effects and demonstrate knowledge of animation principles.
  • Experience with 3D modeling software such as SketchUp, Revit, or equivalent is a plus
  • Be knowledgeable in color theory, typography, illustration, and photography.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
  • Be detail-oriented and highly organized.
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrate good judgment and professionalism in all interactions.
  • Be able to work collaboratively with a variety of people and personalities on a range of tasks of varying complexity.

Education and Experience:

  • Have a minimum of one year of design experience as a graphic designer.
  • Hold at least an Associate Degree, with an emphasis on graphic design, illustration, art, or a related field.
