Position Details

Lead Content Marketing Specialist
Northern Illinois
Riverwoods or Remote, IL

Leads the development of marketing content strategy, messaging and assets that differentiates PULSE, a Discover Company, from competitors while gaining credit for our scale, partnership, and technology in the digital, social, and event channels. Write copy and manage launch of external content including articles, white papers, videos, email campaigns, social posts, case studies, and paid efforts. Tests various methods and channels for growing brand presence as well as refining content SEO efforts and metrics. Actively manages and escalates risk and customer-impacting issues within the day-to-day role to management.


  • Leads development and activation of marketing content via social, web site and other channels. Leverages research and tools to create custom programs, marketing materials and thought leadership articles for Acquirers, large merchants, and issuersto generate leads and increase engagement. 
  • Represents the business interest in content, brand, and digital efforts including development and distribution of content and managing related paid media campaigns, case studies, presentations, promotional materials, event collateral, email marketing/ nurture drip campaigns, website copy and visual assets. 
  • Manages business, brand, and legal approvals for content and derivative assets including infographics, social media. 
  • Leads efforts to develop integrated content scorecard and quarterly reporting to leadership based on data-driven KPIs. 
  • Collaborates with Digital Marketing, sales team, subject matter experts, events team and related agencies to develop effective digital and event-related activation plans. 
  • Serves as the Brand and Communications representative on various special cross-functional internal projects as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

At a minimum, here’s what we need from you:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communications, English or related field 
  • 4+ years of Marketing experience in Marketing, Digital Marketing, or related field 
  • In lieu of a degree, 6+ years of Marketing experience
  • Marketing, Digital Marketing,or related field

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of Financial Services, B2B Content Marketing, Digital User Experience, or related experience 
  • Experience in content creation, copywriting, journalism, and research with demonstrated content marketing expertise 
  • Strong project management skills and ability to work in complex cross-functional teams
