Wintrust Marketing is looking for a stellar, nimble, and proven lead copywriter to join our team! This candidate must be an expert writer, editor, and big idea generator. Along with turning strategy into reality, they’ll manage a team of writers, and provide that staff with savvy feedback and guidance.

Responsibilities include:

  • Help find new ways to attract and surprise B2C and B2B clients. 
  • Experienced at translating a brief into clear and motivating creative. 
  • Develop on-point creative concepts, and manage through to execution. 
  • Lead or participate in brainstorming sessions, attend strategic planning sessions. 
  • Write and consult on unique and compelling marketing copy for multiple lines of business across various platforms, including: web, mobile, search, display, email, social, presentations, events, and video. 
  • Collaborate with designers, strategists, account managers, and stakeholders to create strong copy that meets our strategic and tactical goals. 
  • Present work to stakeholders. 
  • Develop marketing and advertising ideas and concepts by staying current with marketing and audience trends and platforms, collaborating with designers, strategists, account managers, and stakeholders, and contributing creative ideas and opinions at meetings. 
  • Manage team of copywriters, keep team and projects on track taking advantage of our project management system.
  • 5-7 years of relevant experience V
  • alidated work experience as a senior-level copywriter with a strong portfolio 
  • Experience managing copywriters 
  • Proven and advanced understanding of how to write for digital channels 
  • Excellent sense of grammar with experience using the AP Stylebook 
  • Advanced ability to write for multiple audiences 
  • Nimble in ability to understand complex concepts 
  • Solid communication skills 
  • Ability to handle multiple projects in an extremely fast-paced environment 
  • Detail-oriented 
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook), project management systems, user experience design tools 
  • Bachelor degree or equivalent required
