Under the supervision of the Digital Marketing Manager, the Lead Digital Communications Specialist’s objective is to ensure the success of Moody by creating (strategy and production), executing, and providing operational and analytics support for education-related ministry partner email/acquisition and SMS marketing campaigns, marketing/communications automation projects, as well as assisting with digital acquisition strategy and campaigns (e.g. new name acquisition). This role will assist in driving higher brand awareness, positioning, nurturing and further qualifying Moody’s undergraduate and seminary student audiences, donors and alumni, in CRM and Marketing platforms including Eloqua, Oracle Sales Cloud, and Salesforce. Responsibilities include managing and analyzing audience list and campaign performance data, overseeing the design, programming and scheduling of email & SMS nurture campaigns, and providing quality control and error prevention in lead scoring and lead nurturing processes.

  • Work with the Digital Marketing Manager, ministry and Marketing Strategic Communications (MSC) marketing stakeholders to design and manage email and digital acquisition campaigns that utilize best practices in order to drive open and conversion rates. 
  • Advise on best practices for executing messaging within the email channel. 
  • Provide in-depth analysis on campaign performance and define measurement plans consisting of key performance indicators, performance drivers, and operational metrics, integrating data across initiatives and platforms, including web, email, social media, and other digital conversion areas. 
  • Collaborate with Admissions and Student Success teams to provide email assets and templates in support of student enrollment and retention goals. 
  • In collaboration with digital marketing Web Content Specialist, oversee and manage landing page and lead acquisition form strategies with integration within marketing CRM system. 
  • Recommend and implement continuous improvements of all email and lead data activities and to ensure prospective student leads successfully move through sales funnel. 
  • Create marketing strategies that effectively engage audiences according to ministry partner goals and audience needs (inform, engage, nurture, convert to donors, build loyalty) 
  • Schedule email communications for multiple business units, seeking to minimize audience fatigue and maximize effectiveness 
  • Manage unsubscribes and non-delivering email addresses. 
  • Audit: Champion continuous improvement and advancement of all email activities and capabilities including ministry partner comm flows, targeting, personalization, and automation in concert with stakeholders: marketing, design and technical teams. 
  • Provide ongoing training to end users on Eloqua and Salesforce systems and processes. 
  • Maintain current skills and job knowledge through professional development opportunities. 
  • Participate in CRM change management, as required. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business or a related field. 
  • Three years of relevant experience in email marketing/operations experience with data management. 
  • Strong analytics skills. 
  • Ability to translate data into actionable insights to improve marketing and student support efforts. 
  • Able to work in the United States legally without sponsorship.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Four or more years of email marketing, marketing automation or marketing operations experience, including strategy, programming, scheduling, analytics and reporting. 
  • Experience in an enterprise CRM and marketing system like Eloqua, Salesforce, etc. 
  • Working knowledge of best practices for email marketing and sales funnel analysis, like programming, templates, segmentation, testing, list growth, metrics, benchmarks, and KPIS. 
  • Strong project management skills including experience working in a cross-functional environment while delivering results and meeting deadlines. 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a high attention to details.
