Magazine Designer - Immediate Need

Are you an enthusiastic, experienced and personable design professional? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to collaborate on our nationally circulated, award-winning health and wellness magazine aimed primarily at women over 50. 

In this full-time, salaried position, you’ll work with our fun and friendly team of dedicated communications professionals on site at our headquarters near General Mitchell International Airport. Together we’ll do beautiful work that informs and inspires people to live their best lives.

Although your primary focus will be the magazine, you will be asked to help, as needed, with other projects (advertisements, trade show collateral, special projects, etc.)

This is not a remote gig, and we require someone with real experience – years of it. Students and recent grads are encouraged to apply for our spring, summer or fall paid internships.

Must-haves for this job include:

• College degree in visual or digital arts, graphic design or related area of study.  Consideration will be given to candidates without degrees who have extensive experience.
• Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat Pro DC, InDesign, InCopy, Illustrator and PhotoShop
• Proficiency in Mac products 
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Word and Outlook 
• Ability to work quickly and thoroughly under pressure 
• Ability to work well independently and as part of a team 
• 5-7 years of experience – minimum 

These are a plus:

• Demonstrated expertise in illustration 
• Photography and lighting experience
• Passion for health and wellness 
• Knowledge of and personal interest in fitness and/or nutrition topics

Pay is dependent on experience but will be at least $44,000.
