You will work directly with Marvin’s integrated marketing agency team, the Marvin Creative Studio, to help bring the Marvin brand to life through integrated storytelling. You’ll partner with Marvin’s experienced creative team to support how the Marvin brand is expressed in messaging across earned, owned, shared and paid channels, reaching homeowners and professionals, including architects, builders and design professionals.

As Manager of Content Strategy at Marvin, you will serve as content strategist for internal stakeholders, including: public relations, social media, dealer and retail experience, brand communications, digital the Marvin Design Lab and external agencies, ensuring all content is integrated, aligned and planned efficiently to maximize investment.

Responsibilities:

Content Strategy Creation & Amplification

Manage a 12-month editorial calendar that sets direction for teams to execute against

Create content amplification strategies to expand the reach of brand stories, sponsored homes, influencer programs and paid campaigns through existing or new channels

  • Recommend optimal delivery of content to target audiences, including opportunities for earned media, social content, video, blog, website, case study, testimonials, thought leadership, etc.
  • Lead content creation and editorial strategy for Inspired by Marvin blog, seek to continuously increase its value as a publishing platform

Lead editorial sessions to proactively mine internal and external storytelling ideas

Assist with content acquisition (via agencies or freelancers), create/write or edit content

Assist with strategy for content optimization associated with owned website channels

Translate user experience insights into content that serves user needs as they arise

Serve as liaison to digital strategy team to ensure that SEO best practices are being implemented in content at development to maximize effectiveness

Content Management, Standards and Sharing

Establish standards for regular sharing of content initiatives throughout marketing and to key enterprise stakeholders, including internal communications, sales, dealer and retail experience team, distribution partners, etc.

  • Optimize delivery method for content initiatives, including potential dashboard format

Manage file saving and sharing system to enable cross-collaboration and access to relevant assets across the marketing department

Conduct regular content audits to discover un-leveraged content. Bring forward opportunities to repurpose or repackage content to deliver return on previously made content investments.

  • Assess and evaluate content quality, conduct competitive analyses of content, catalog/capture content types and attributes, and prepare gap analysis to identify where new content needs to be developed
  • Measure and report on content effectiveness produced across the department, recommend changes or improvements on a regular cadence

Champion content style guidelines and vision for new content experiences

Public Relations and Social Media Support

Work with public relations team to craft and pitch creative, innovative story angles to generate editorial exposure

Assist with fielding incoming media inquiries that align with content goals/campaigns

Research, write and edit public relations communication tools and content

Lead development and management of social media strategy for the brands; review and approve monthly content calendars

Provide PR and social media support and strategy for trade shows and events, including communications plans and content campaigns

Content Consulting

Be an influential voice for best practices in content strategy, passionate about the role content can play in providing value to target audiences

Partner with marketing colleagues to optimize creative briefs, maximizing potential content outputs and preventing duplication

Provide consulting to ensure distribution channel content plans are integrated with overall content goals

Required Skills:

  • Efficient in a deadline-driven environment with multiple concurrent assignments 
  • Excellent verbal communication skills, particularly when it comes to collaborating with team members and content creators 
  • An energetic team player and driven self-starter, with a positive mindset and excellent work ethic 
  • Thorough understanding of printing processes, photography, illustration, typography and interactive media 
  • Strong sense of design 
  • Portfolio that demonstrates a range of content mediums from print to social, video and beyond

Education / Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, journalism or related field 
  • 8+ years of experience in an agency or corporate setting
