OVERVIEW:

Manager, Copywriter is a key role on the FTD creative team that will lead brand storytelling, content creation, and brand activation. This role is based in the US, reporting directly to Director of Creative. The Manager, Copywriter role will lead FTD's in-house creative department to refine and express the FTD and Proflowers brand with emotion and style. This role requires an expert knowledge of a range of copywriting tactics, including social media advertising, and strategic email campaigns. The Manager, Copywriter must be able to offer constructive, effective feedback to writers based on industry best practices and FTD and Proflowers' evolving marketing strategy.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop compelling brand communication that meet the marketing and business objectives of the organization and that advance the FTD and Proflowers brand strategy in a consistent way. 
  • Work with Creative Director and Sr. Graphic Designers to develop seasonal messaging campaigns. 
  • Assist in shaping the long-term brand and communication strategy for the FTD and Proflowers brands and ensure effective implementation across campaigns and channels. 
  • Persuasively present and recommend preferred creative concepts to key stakeholders, gaining alignment to direction while acting upon useful feedback. 
  • Develop strategic campaigns and content to build brand awareness of the FTD and Proflowers. 
  • Manage all storytelling aspects of brand partnerships and sponsorships for FTD and Proflowers. 
  • Manage multiple projects from concept through completion within tight timeframes. Deliver on time and to a high level of quality. 
  • Continue to develop and evolve the brand voice under the guidance of the Creative Director. 
  • Lead brainstorming sessions and translate conceptual ideas into tangible creative work. 
  • Copy proofing/editing for all assigned projects to the copy team. 
  • Develop product copy and descriptions and establish benchmarks and own copy guidelines. 
  • Lead creative tone of voice on FTD's B2B and Florist communications, including B2B specific campaigns, communications. 
  • Supervise, mentor, and inspire the writing team to help with their personal growth withing the company. 
  • Review work and offer feedback that is focused on learning and growth of writers. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Advertising, Journalism, English or other Communications degree. 
  • 7+ years of experience as a copywriter or senior writing role required; agency experience a plus. 
  • 2+ years of experience managing a team. 
  • Experience writing and concepting for 360 creative campaigns including social, digital, radio, print and OOH. 
  • Agency or in-house experience in a B2B or highly transactional e-tail environments. 
  • Creative and conceptual thinker with excellent client-facing skills to seek new opportunities. 
  • Possess excellent writing, presentation, engagement, and communication skills. 
  • The ability to set vision and drive concepts and strategies through the entire creative and development process. 
  • A solid understanding of both business and user goals and how they relate. 
  • Ability to lead projects from concept to completion. 
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, virtual environment requiring self-motivation and adaptability. 
  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite a plus. 
  • Capable in MS Office Suite (Including MS Teams).
