Job Summary:

Bring our brand to life by leading content marketing and copywriting strategy and execution. From concept to final delivery, oversee the creation of content for multiple audiences and platforms. Manage and maintain brand standards to unify holistic, end-to-end brand experiences and lead content management and strategy efforts.

Principle Responsibilities:

Team Management

  • Provides day-to-day management of staff to help overcome barriers, think through challenges, explore opportunities, and exemplify the Allina Health values. 
  • Recruits, hires and onboards new talent. Supports development of staff through coaching, mentoring and timely feedback. 
  • Develops retention strategies aimed at driving high team morale and engagement. Ensure role clarity among team members and across departments. Provide meaningful development opportunities to develop team core competencies and help team members grow/develop in their careers. 
  • Leads, directs and develops staff to apply best-in-class communications strategies to engage and motivate audiences across multiple channels. 
  • Defines project teams, assigns work and monitors capacity and deadlines. 
  • Communicates at all levels of the organization. Successful at building and sustaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders including executive team members and agency partners. 
  • Works on complex departmental activities and/or projects requiring multi-faceted analyses and processes. 
  • Develops budgets and financials for teams and assigned projects. Participates in department budgeting and provides day-to-day oversite of the copywriting/content strategy budget.

Content Strategy

  • Defines the content strategy strategic direction to meet established organizational goals and operational priorities. Make data-driven recommendations and adjustments as priorities shift. 
  • Oversees marketing content management and ensures editorial calendar addresses key content themes, audience interests, conversion data and competitive content audits. 
  • Partners with key leaders across the organization to co-lead content management for all of Allina Health. 
  • Develops and implements a vision for an enterprise content strategy to drive overarching Allina Health business objectives. 
  • Collaborates with other leaders to define the requirements, roadmap and ongoing governance for content management tools and processes. 
  • Identifies and initiates projects to optimize content for a given audience (e.g., patients, donors, physicians, etc.) 
  • Recommends content solutions at the project level. For example, content audit for a website, gap analysis for a marketing automation project, or taxonomy for a CMS. 
  • Documents governance best practices and rolls out job aids to team members and internal stakeholders as support. 
  • Oversight of the Healthy, Set, Go blog and newsletter.

Creative Concepting.

  • Co-leads the development of creative briefs and leads the creative concepting process.
  • Pitches work to internal and external stakeholders. 
  • Forecast, assign, allocate and monitor workload to maximize productivity and ensure projects are completed on strategy and on time. 
  • Monitors project status to rapidly identify and proactively address issues and problems. Leads the ongoing development of workflow and process improvement.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in English, Communications Journalism or similar field required 
  • Master's degree in English, Communications Journalism or similar field preferred 
  • 3 to 7 years proven work experience as a copywriter required 
  • 5 to 7 years experience in content marketing, preferably as a content strategist required 
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office, Sitecore, WordPress, Adobe Experience Manager and/or similar tools required 
  • CRM (Salesforce and Pardo) experience preferred 
  • 3 to 7 years experience as a people manager required
