Position Summary:

The Manager, Design & Digital Media will work with the Global Communications Director and Global Communications Manager on a range of ambitious and innovative projects. Responsible for expanding and enhancing Martin Brower’s online presence. Helping to drive the creative direction of campaigns and apply an understanding of typography, layout and art direction in order to help the team produce the best work possible.

Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to:

  • Support internal and external marketing campaigns via design and deployment. 
  • Be the key Communications point of contact for all online tools and processes ensuring a reputation enhancing, relevant online presence (intranet, website and social media) – including the provision of accurate, appropriate branded messaging that meets company standards; adhering to deadlines where appropriate 
  • Support the Global Communications team throughout the execution of campaigns and projects. 
  • Initiate and gain stakeholder agreement for changes, updates and enhancements as appropriate 
  • Work with stakeholders on a variety of projects to ensure appropriate representation of new functionality and initiatives to support effective communication 
  • Activities will include sourcing relevant information, appropriate images and artwork, writing, editing and publishing content with a focus on creative execution 
  • Ensure web best practices are applied to control the site layout, content and accessibility 
  • Develop editorial policies, copyright, data protection and best practice as appropriate 
  • Map, monitor, and manage the online user journey and usage activity to gain feedback, and make recommendations to ensure continuous improvement and relevance 
  • Develop and evolve a content calendar 
  • Support Communications and Operations teams with scheduled newsletters. 
  • Produce attractive and effective designs for all media, such as brochures, newsletters, advertisements, handouts, presentations, logos, posters, invitations, web images, etc., for internal and external audiences. 
  • Layout pages, draw/redraw logos, rework text, perform color corrections and overall, take on the basic graphic design duties. 
  • Other projects or duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Degree in Marketing, Communication, Media, Writing or New Media or similar experience 
  • 5 years graphic design work experience 
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite: InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop & Acrobat with applied experience in creating and editing graphics for online 
  • Strong knowledge and consistent use of technology; proficiency in MS Office suite including Word, Excel and PowerPoint 
  • Experience of working within a communications/digital/web environment using a variety of methods 
  • Sound familiarity with social media tools and platforms (e.g. LinkedIn) 
  • Experience managing websites using CMS, preferably Microsoft SharePoint, with a strong knowledge of HTML 
  • Experience in web analytical tools e.g. Google Analytics 
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing; ability to communicate effectively with different levels within an organization and lead change initiatives; ability to facilitate team meetings 
  • Effective at stakeholder engagement and ensuring communication strategies meet the needs of the varied internal stakeholder groups. 
  • Good listening skills, ability to understand issues, and design appropriate solutions 
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment 
  • Understanding of correctly and appropriately interpreting and incorporating branding into content and style 
  • Able to work effectively and collaborate with cross functional teams 
  • Proven experience of independently generating as well as editing and proof reading submitted content 
  • Able to develop and implement dynamic web pages 
  • Must be a strategic and innovative thinker 
  • Independent, results oriented individual with a strong work ethic, tenacity and a persistent approach. 
  • The motivation and initiative to maintain and improve design standards 
  • This position must pass a post-offer background and drug test.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Ideally three to five years experience of online communications in a B2B or agency environment 
  • Experience with SharePoint 
  • Knowledge of HTML
