We are looking for an experienced External Communications Manager who is passionate about storytelling and relationship building.

Responsibilities:

  • Draft and distribute tactical media plans and content for enterprise-wide external announcements, executing the distribution and follow-up for all pitches and press releases. 
  • Proactively pitch top tier and local media and work with individual reporters to obtain information or fulfill interview requests with executives. 
  • Provide communications services to the executive team, as needed, including talking points, speechwriting and presentation development. 
  • Manage reporting for the annual Corporate Responsibility Report, and own year-round storytelling amplifying Rockwell’s social responsibility and sustainability stories and wins to investors and journalists. 
  • Contribute to issue management and crisis planning. 
  • Collaborate with functional communication teams to help all partners reach their highest level of contribution.
  • Develop strong partnerships with key contacts across all functions to ensure External Communications is consistently engaged as a key player in strategic decision-making for the company. 
  • Integrate strategy and vision into every pitch, press release and placement. 
  • Lead measurement and analysis of media relations efforts.

  • Exceptional written communication skills and a passion for creative storytelling. 
  • Demonstrated focus on details and the ability to manage multiple, high-profile projects. 
  • Strong editing and proofreading, skills.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Legal authorization to work in the US is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in journalism, corporate communications, or public relations. 
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in corporate communications or public relations, preferably in a global, publicly traded company.
