This position is responsible for leading the Co-Op / Vendor Funding, including strategic planning, investment, and opportunities for optimization and innovation of vendor co-op programs in partnership with Co-Op Strategy team.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

STRATEGIC PLANNING

  • Understand category marketing strategies to develop Co-Op / Vendor Funding media objectives, strategies and plans across traditional and digital media 
  • Develop external vendor funding packages to support marketing strategy, working alongside coop team to maximize media investment and impact 
  • Lead internal and external agency partners to develop Co-Op / Vendor Funding tactical campaigns, both traditional and digital that achieve strategies 
  • Understand the overlap of Kohl’s and Co-op programs to ensure maximizing media investment effectively

BUDGET & MEASUREMENT

  • Leverage media analytics, measurement results and business / category sales plan to inform Co-Op / Vendor Funding strategy and media investment recommendation 
  • Work with Media Analytics team to develop Co-Op / Vendor Funding test and learn roadmaps with Co-Op Strategy to optimize and innovate channels 
  • Partner with agency and key channel owners to identify Co-Op / Vendor Funding media refinements, improvements and innovations in order to maximize media investment and impact

COLLABORATE WITH STAKEHOLDERS

  • Communicate with co-op strategy team on an ongoing basis to ensure all parties are aligned to media plan, execution and performance 
  • Collaborate with internal co-op stakeholders to understand sales performance, customer targets, brand KPIs to develop proper media strategies 
  • Successfully pitch and sell media recommendations to key leadership and merchant stakeholders. 
  • Ensure recommendations are fact based, persuasive and have a clear point of view. 
  • Manage agency relationships. 
  • Provide direction on strategic and tactical plans, workload management and deadlines

MANAGEMENT OF ASSOCIATES

  • Manage and influence direct reports, systems and projects to achieve unit goals in accordance with Company policies and practices 
  • Provide leadership by exhibiting influence and expertise, thus affecting the results of the operating area 
  • Create and promote an effective work environment by developing a common vision, setting clear objectives, expecting teamwork, recognizing outstanding performance and maintaining open communications 
  • Develop staff through coaching, providing performance feedback, providing effective performance assessments and establishing performance and development plans

REQUIRED:

  • BA/BS, Marketing, Business Administration 
  • 5+ years of agency experience, activation of traditional and digital media 
  • Strong presentation skills to internal marketing teams, external vendors and senior leadership 
  • Significant analytical skills to develop and assess media plans 
  • Organizational skills to work effectively in fast paced environment
