JOB OBJECTIVE:

The Manager, NA Strategic Marketing will work closely with the North America branch sales leadership, field representatives, product managers and market segment leaders to orchestrate tactical plans that helps Promega deliver on data driven, customer centric, omni-channel marketing programs. This person is responsible for cross-channel orchestration and decision management to build awareness of Promega’s capabilities and generate qualified contacts for sales follow up. They will do so by proposing and executing marketing and sales enablement programs that leverage various channels and segment databases.

As a Manager, this person will mentor colleagues in digital strategy marketing, identify opportunities for and lead cross-functional organization change, and identify and lead projects with contributors beyond the branch team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

1. Manage the North America branch marketing team, including defining roles and responsibilities, hiring, assigning projects and managing workloads, and maintaining clear and consistent department documentation. Proactively develops the talent in their area; co-constructing performance goals, objectives and development plans, and providing ongoing constructive performance feedback.

2. Develop and execute focused, multichannel marketing campaigns based on corporate initiatives, balancing inputs from the broader marketing initiatives. Lead the execution of marketing programs from start to finish, driving collaboration with stakeholders and leveraging the right internal processes. Incorporate international branch input. Facilitate global execution with localization as appropriate.

3. Oversee North America sales field marketing activities, including territory- and region-specific marketing plans while maintaining and tracking to planned expenses. Monitor tactical execution. Identify and share field marketing best practices. Gather and report on competitor insights. Provide guidance and support for international branches. Identify and develop opportunities for marketing partnerships with customers and industry partners.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES (continued):

4. Measure and report on the performance of marketing programs, identify opportunities and propose projects to improve branch efficiencies and field marketing. Align the marketing platform roadmap with the roadmaps for various teams including advanced analytics, data strategy, CRM, other enablement platforms. Identify, initiate and execute transformative innovation.

5. Contribute to North America commercial planning and branch management. Identify opportunities and propose projects to improve branch efficiency and performance. Manage the North America Marketing annual budget. Contribute to national sales meetings and national sales team development initiatives.

6. Lead cross-functional efforts to develop Promega’s global marketing strategies as a key stakeholder. Play an active role in global campaign planning and coordination. Support efforts to function as a global team. Regularly interacts with senior management or executive levels on matters concerning several functional areas. Requires the ability to change the thinking or gain acceptance of others through sensitive situations. Is sensitive to (or understands) the diverse perspectives of stakeholders and works with them to resolve differences.

7. Manage the North America tradeshow strategy. Oversee regular reviews of the tradeshow schedule and budget. Provide collaborative leadership for Promega’s corporate tradeshow strategy.

8. Propose and direct marketing research projects to generate consumer insights in support of efforts to continuously improve customer experience. Identify international branch stakeholders and provide options for efficient international engagement in projects. Support market research efforts led by product managers and market segment leaders. Ensure participation from all applicable internal stakeholders for market research and customer insight projects. Develop processes to ensure that market research project reports are shared with stakeholders in a timely fashion.

9. Understand how to leverage Promega’s technology ecosystem to drive business. Identify opportunities and propose projects to enhance Promega’s marketing tech stack.

10. Proven ability to manage highly skilled team leads or associate managers, developing those upcoming leaders, coaching them to broaden out their skillset for exposure to business management, employee coaching and leadership and identifying new areas in the organization to help them grow professionally.

11. Work independently with moderate supervision and with other team members in a cooperative manner. Demonstrated ability to self-direct and lead without direct authority.

MANDATORY QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Minimum 5 year’s relative marketing, product management, sales or related or business experience in Life Sciences ore related field.

2. B.S./B.A. degree in business, marketing, or related field.

3. Demonstrated ability to work on multiple detailed projects and assignments simultaneously and independently.

4. Financial understanding sufficient to evaluate cost accounting and return implications for potential projects.

5. High energy level with ability to take initiative. Self-motivated and capable to work independently on individual projects as well as team projects.

6. Proven experience in developing and implementing strategic marketing plans producing outstanding results. Proven effectiveness in communicating with all levels of management and staff, internally and externally.

7. Effective negotiator, facilitator and outstanding presentation skills. Ability to work with a variety of different departments or external collaborators. Manage and lead project team members toward achieving project goals.

8. Proficient in various computer applications including: word processing, spread sheet manipulation, database queries, Internet searches, electronic mail communication, electronic scheduler and web design/developing tools.

9. Ability to travel domestically 20% or more.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

1. MBA

2. 7+ years in Marketing Analytics, Database Marketing, Campaign Management and Reporting.

3. Demonstrated sales enablement experience.

4. Experience marketing highly technical products or services in a B2B environment, ideally in life sciences, healthcare, biotechnology or pharmaceuticals.

5. Strong hands-on technical/analytical skills using Campaign Management and Reporting Software (Microsoft Dynamics, Project management platforms).

6. Have an outstanding, recognizable online presence, a large and engaged following, awards to their credit for excellence in the biotech field.
