Minnesota Jewish Theatre Company was founded in 1995 by Producing Artistic Director Barbara Brooks to engage people of all backgrounds in work rooted in Jewish content that explores differences, illuminates commonalities and fosters greater understanding among all people. This St. Paul-based professional company presents a season of five shows at the intimate 143-seat theater in the Highland Park Community Center located in the Highland area of St. Paul. MJTC work has garnered 5 Ivey Awards as well as the Metropolitan Regional Arts Council’s Arts Achievement Award. Now in its 25th anniversary season, MJTC has experienced consistent annual growth in its subscription and single ticket sales and contributors. The Manager of Communication and Audience Engagement will have a strong foundation from which to further advance ticket sales and audience development.

Scope of services:

A primary voice of Minnesota Jewish Theatre Company, the Manager of Communication and Audience Engagement uses various modes of communication to nurture and maintain external relationships, and is responsible for the planning and implementation of written and social media communications, and activities that deepen engagement of audiences, all for the objective of ensuring the successful operations of Minnesota Jewish Theatre Company.

The Manager of Communication and Audience Engagement works in collaboration and coordination with the Producing Artistic Director and Manager of Operations. Responsibilities include planning marketing, public relations and communications for the season and productions; prepare media releases; write and develop individual show mailers and other promotional materials; keep the website updated and manage social media; plan and implement email communications; write and produce other appropriate materials; and plan and work as part of a team to program activities that complement the work on stage.

Qualifications:

Strong writing skills for a variety of media (media releases, brochure copy, sales letters, etc.); organized and detail oriented; project management skills; time management skills; problem solving skills; knowledge of social media; experience producing printed materials; basic understanding and experience in project budgeting; good listener and works well in a collaborative environment; and works well under pressure/deadlines. Some experience working with print and electronic media including video and editing is preferred but not necessary.
