The Manager, Product and Service Communications, is responsible to:

  • Provide internal and external communications management, counsel, and support to the organization and ensure timely and proactive communication in  achieving goals for the organization.
  • Work closely with the Director, Communications, to execute the CAP Communications strategy that will foster success of the organization’s strategic focus and goals.
  • Provide specific communication expertise to proactively deliver information, directly or through credible news and other communication resources, to key member, customer, and targeted internal/external audiences, including consumers. 
  • Develop relationships with key contacts internally and externally to drive organizational growth and sustainability.

  • Ability to understand audiences’ needs for information and at what level to present it.
  • Strong attention to detail with an organizational view in mind 
  • Comfortable working with members and employees at all levels throughout the organization 
  • Comfortable working in a matrix environment, e.g., leading and supporting projects, as needed. 
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments independently. 
  • Excellent editing, writing, and proofreading skills 
  • Creation and execution of communication plans through use of technical tools, described below. 
  • Proficient in the Microsoft environment, e.g., Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel 
  • Comfortable with employing web, internet and intranet, and social media for communication 
  • Willingness to learn new systems, as needed whether in support of the organization, e.g., Oracle or communications specifically, e.g., media monitoring or other media tools.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, communications, journalism, public relations, or marketing.

Experience:

  • At least 5-7 years of communications experience.
  • Experience in effectively delivering strategic communications counsel.
  • Experience in  working in varied organizational communications service models.
  • Knowledge of healthcare environment and experience within the healthcare/diagnostics industries preferred.
  • Requires strong project management and meeting multiple deadlines for multiple projects.

Travel Requirements:

  • Travel required to industry conferences, member committee meetings, and other events.
