Your Responsibilities:

As a Manager, Public Relations for John Deere World Headquarters located in Moline, Illinois you will strengthen the John Deere brand and increase media coverage by:

  • Educating journalists, influencers, and other thought leaders about the John Deere’s strategy
  • Developing and executing communications materials including news releases, social media posts, and press kits
  • Helping to lead and execute on a digital-first PR strategy Visa sponsorship isNOTavailable for this position.

What Skills You Need

  • Previous experience leading successful PR programs 
  • Strong, clear writing style and excellent editing skills 
  • Understanding of evolving social media, web, and storytelling trends and tools 
  • Proven ability to mitigate risk and execute crisis communications strategies 
  • 7 or more years of experience developing creative media strategies, pitching these to news or related industry media and successfully securing coverage of the same across both traditional and newer, digital marketing channels

What Makes You Stand Out

  • Well-developed and maintained media relationships 
  • Experience managing or supporting social media for a large organization 
  • Knowledge and/or experience working with Public Affairs 
  • Familiarity and experience using Cision, PRNewsWire, and social media software tools

Education

Ideally, you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Marketing, Communications, or Public Relations
