Manager, Social Media & Publicity

Under the supervision of the Marketing Director, the Manager, Social Media & Publicity oversees book promotion in two main areas--publicity and social media. The main goal is the strategic placement of Moody Publishers titles and authors in front of the right media and consumers with the goal of increasing brand awareness and product sales.

Essential Functions:

  • Managing the publicity team members with the goal of creating the most effective publicity strategies for Moody Publishers titles and overseeing the progress of key publicity campaigns 
  • Creating and executing social media campaigns for chosen social platforms as well as tracking and analyzing campaign performances in order to make data-driven recommendations 
  • Coordinating and working with authors on effective strategies for their books 
  • Designing and operating select publicity campaigns 
  • Growing and developing the publicity staff with an eye to strong staff engagement 
  • Coordinating campaigns and efforts with the book marketers and sales staff 
  • Managing and maximizing the budget for publicity and social media

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s in English, Journalism, Creative Writing, Public Relations, Communications, or a related field 
  • Ability to think and operate on both the creative and analytical sides of marketing 
  • A self-starter who thrives on tackling challenges in a fast-paced environment 
  • Demonstration of thought leadership in content strategy, publicity, and social media 
  • Deep knowledge of the current media and social media landscape and technology 
  • In-depth knowledge of SEO principles, keyword research, Google Analytics, and social media listening 
  • Ability to manage and drive multiple projects simultaneously 
  • Experience in social media management and writing for various types of media 
  • Possession of (or willingness to quickly get) Google Analytics Certification 
  • Authorized to work in the US legally without sponsorship

Preferred Requirements:

  • Excellent writing and editing skills 
  • Good management and interpersonal skills 
  • Experience in publishing, preferably Christian publishing or content development for the Christian market 
  • Biblical/Theological training

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. The employee must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
