The MD, Employee Communications, is responsible for developing and driving strategy and execution of timely, relevant and engaging communications to BCBSA employees and BCBS Plan associates. This role provides oversight and accountability for a variety of communications deliverables, translating the needs of senior leadership and key stakeholders and providing connections between work streams to ensure consistent messages and optimize opportunities to communicate across audiences. The MD is also responsible for strategy and execution of special internal communications projects as needed. The MD also oversees communications coordination with key stakeholders from across BCBSA to inform employee communications and collaborates with BCBSA’s digital and content teams to build and execute comprehensive communications strategies.
The MD leads a team of communicators who support specific communications work streams and deliverables:
- Communication campaigns to BCBSA associates across multiple delivery channels (e.g., digital content, newsletter, printed collateral, events, meetings and message toolkits), aligned with BCBSA Human Resources and other departments/divisions that educate and engage BCBSA associates
- Communications to Plans on the strategic initiatives driven by BCBSA on behalf of the BCBS System (e.g., newsletters, in-person meetings, extranet)
