Change the lives of thousands of Minnesotans through effective marketing, communications, and brand management at Special Olympics Minnesota!

This position will support the delivery of Special Olympics Unified Champion Schools working with established marketing and mission delivery teams to deliver social and sports programs which include all youth and create accepting and inclusive school environments. Through strategy development, copywriting, development of digital and print collateral, content management, email marketing, social media, and other efforts, the reach of Unified Champion Schools will grow and continue to advance social inclusion in the community.

Unified Champion Schools is a major pillar of the Special Olympics Movement, which seeks to improve the lives of people with intellectual disabilities through sports, health, leadership, and inclusion programming. This position will also include opportunities to promote and support other events and initiatives delivering Special Olympics Minnesota’s mission and raising funds to support operations, including occasional work to develop and manage on-site visual identities, coordinate speakers and photographers, connect with local media, and more at events, competitions, and fundraisers.

Requirements:

Required:

  • Formal training in communications, marketing, public relations, or a related field (Bachelor’s Degree, associate degree, certificate programs, etc.); 1-3 years of relevant experience—or equivalent combination of training and experience 
  • A high-level of proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite apps 
  • Demonstrated excellence in verbal and written skills

Preferred:

  • Experience working with diverse communities 
  • Experience working in academic environments

This position may require travel to schools, event venues, and other locations as needed. Some meetings or events may occur outside normal business hours.
