Appleton International Airport is the third largest airport in Wisconsin. The airport serves Northeast Wisconsin via four airlines (American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, United Airlines and Allegiant Air) with nonstop service to 11 destinations including five major hubs (Atlanta, Chicago, Denver, Detroit, Minneapolis/St. Paul), five warm weather destinations (Fort Myers/Punta Gorda, Las Vegas, Orlando/Sanford, Phoenix/Mesa and Tampa/St. Pete) plus seasonal summer flights to Nashville.

Marketing and Communications Coordinator

Position Purpose:

Appleton International Airport, one of the fastest growing airports in the U.S., is looking for a strategic thinker with a creative eye. We are nationally recognized for innovative airport marketing, community outreach, and a passion for delivering the best possible customer experience to our travelers. In this role, you will articulate and amplify the ATW brand message through the development and implementation of digital advertising, marketing and promotional campaigns; internal and external communication, media relations, event planning, and community relations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure brand consistency in marketing and social media messages by working with various airport partners, including creative agency, airlines, airport tenants and community partners; 
  • Manage social media pages: create, post, and monitor all content onFacebook, Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, YouTube, blogging, e-newsletter, and airport websites; 
  • Position the airport as an expert within the aviation community, and align voice and tone with the ATW brand; 
  • Develop and execute internal and external events to promote brand awareness and customer loyalty; 
  • Photograph and video airport events; 
  • Lead internal creative projects, i.e. airport signage, banners, advertising; 
  • Assist the Marketing Manager with coordinating communication and building relationships with the business community, corporate travel managers and airlines; 
  • Press releases, acts as media spokesperson when designated; 
  • Assist the ATW team with design and content for airline pitch presentations; 
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Marketing Manager and/or Airport Director.

Education/Certifications/Experience Requirements:

  • Requires a Bachelor's degree in one of the following: Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field. 
  • Prefer 1-3 years work experience and/or internships in customer-facing work situations 
  • Must possess valid Driver's License

Required or Preferred Skills:

  • Excellent oral, written and visual communication skills; 
  • Ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment and is experienced in handling multiple projects at a time; 
  • Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator; PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Excel; WordPress; Google apps including Drive and Docs; file sharing/storage apps including Dropbox and iCloud; Apple iMovie and GarageBand, or other media editing apps; Prezi optional; 
  • Previous experience in digital and content marketing; 
  • Knowledge of photography; 
  • Understanding of writing press releases, ad copy, social posts and website content; 
  • Strategic thinker with a creative eye; 
  • Ability to work independently and with teams, and maintain effective working relationships to accomplish job responsibilities; 
  • Ability to quickly learn and put to use new skills and knowledge brought about by rapidly changing information and/or technology; 
  • Ingenuity and inventiveness in the performance of assigned tasks.

Salary: $18.28 - $23.35 Hourly.
