The Marketing and Communications Coordinator will provide creative and administrative support, coordination and organization for marketing and communications projects and activities. A clear and creative communicator skilled in project management, the Coordinator supports department communications and marketing efforts to achieve the strategic goals of Erikson Institute. This position is 50% marketing/communications and 50% administrative, requiring a mix of writing, design, project management and administrative skills combined with an energetic, “can-do” attitude. The right candidate will be able to manage multiple priorities while staying calm and collected on deadline.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously, using project management systems and tools such as Gantt charts, Google docs and spreadsheets for tracking project planning, implementation, status and completion of various components within the project. 
  • Create presentations and presentation materials using PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat, Illustrator or InDesign. Examples include pitch books for funders, slide shows, program books or other collateral for events; as well as ads, flyers, infographics and other marketing collateral. 
  • Draft copy as needed for memos, letters, e-newsletters, social media posts, presentations, articles. 
  • Provide photos and/or video for social media and other communications needs including video. 
  • Serve as back up for social media posting and monitoring. 
  • Fill out creative briefs for marketing/communications requests coming into the department, to help focus, refine and plan deliverables. 
  • Develop and maintain tracking, reporting and filing systems for the department. 
  • Assist with scheduling and setting up meetings with stakeholders across the organization. 
  • Assist director with invoicing and payment departmental expenses. 
  • Assist director with annual budget planning. 
  • Maintain vendor contract files and assist departmental staff with tracking renewals.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Creative and effective writer with solid design skills for presentations and graphics. 
  • Organized individual proficient in project management skills and tools. 
  • Proficient in social media (Facebook, Twitter, Blogs, YouTube). 
  • Thorough knowledge of PC, using word processing, spreadsheet and database software, esp. Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point). 
  • Proficient in photo/design programs such as Canva, PhotoShop, Adobe Acrobat, Illustrator and InDesign.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • BA/BS in communications, marketing, or related field preferred.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Minimum 3+ years working in a marketing, advertising, communications or web content field in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Internship experience in any of these fields will also be acceptable.
