Marketing & Communications Coordinator

This position is responsible for a range of marketing and communications functions including creative and administrative support for collateral creation and dissemination, digital media, event planning, and community relations activities. The Coordinator will work directly with the Director of Marketing & Communications, assisting with the development of fundraising and external communications tactics that help the Pantry meet its philanthropic goals.


  1. Assist with the development of compelling communications about the Pantry’s mission, goals, and outcomes to build and expand networks of strategic and financial support. 
  2. Create and manage a communications calendar, including online, social media and print communications. 
  3. Assist in creating the monthly e-newsletter. 
  4. Assist with updates to the Lakeview Pantry website and social media accounts. 
  5. Assist with all regularly scheduled online communications, including: the enewsletter, regular e-appeals, hard copy appeals, and social networking sites. 
  6. Assist with cause-marketing events and participation in community events (working with the Development Team and Outreach Assistants). 
  7. Assist with external media relationships and organizational media policies; help expand the Pantry’s presence in local media coverage.
  8. Support the program teams by recruiting for programs and communicating client events. 
  9. Assist in creating materials (slide presentations, print materials, etc.) for events and meetings. 
  10. Assist in the coordination of external graphic design and printing services for stationary, brochures, event invitations, posters and banners. 
  11. Act as an ambassador of the work of Lakeview Pantry to the larger community. 
  12. Other assignments/duties as needed or requested by the Director of Marketing & Communications.


  1. Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, journalism, advertising or similar. 
  2. Two to five years of experience in a marketing, advertising, communications or web content role. 
  3. Spanish language experience a plus. 
  4. A polished and effective writer with solid design skills for collateral, presentations, and other content. 
  5. An organized individual who is able to multi-task and work on numerous projects with various deadlines. 
  6. Proficient in social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Blogs, YouTube). 
  7. Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point). 
  8. Knowledgeable of graphic design programs such as Canva, PhotoShop, Adobe Acrobat, Illustrator and/or InDesign. 
  9. WordPress experience a plus. 
  10. Proven ability to work independently with direction and as a member of a team. 
  11. An understanding of, and belief in, the importance of food security for everyone.
