The Marketing and Communications Director manages all communications and marketing efforts to uphold the MJDS brand and mission. This role also oversees the creation of support materials related to recruitment/admissions and development, and plans and implements social media and other communications to increase awareness of MJDS throughout the community. The individual in this role should possess excellent written communication skills, organization and follow-through with colleagues, parents, board members, donors and vendors.

Primary responsibilities:

  • Uphold and refine the school’s brand and voice across all marketing materials
  • Provide creative design solutions to support school events, recruitment and development needs, including the development and design of direct mail pieces, signage, stationery, flyers and print/digital advertisements 
  • Manage and edit ongoing communications, including weekly e-newsletters and quarterly print newsletters 
  • Review and analyze opportunities to encourage social media followers to engage with the MJDS website 
  • Compose and edit copy for a variety of marketing channels, but primarily for the school’s website 
  • Develop and oversee social media strategy aligned to the school’s brand and mission 
  • Create and deploy email marketing campaigns Photograph school events to utilize in promotional materials (e.g., annual report, social media, website)
  •  Communicate with outside vendors, including graphic designers, mail houses, photographers and printers to see through project completion

Preferred competencies:

  • Polished presentation and public relations skills 
  • Knowledge of the Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) 
  • Ability to capture and edit video 
  • Basic HTML and/or content management system (CMS) skills 
  • Knowledge of email and web marketing best practices 
  • Ability to run ad-hoc reports from Google Analytics

Our salary ranges from approximately $40,000 - $60,000
