St. Paul Academy and Summit School seeks a Marketing and Communications Manager to support the school’s robust institutional marketing, communications, branding, and publications programs. This is a 12-month, full-time, exempt position reporting to the Director of Communications. Salary is commensurate with experience and demonstrated areas of expertise.

Areas of Focus:

School communications support

  • Provide general support for communications projects within the Office of Communications and within the broader school community; ensure adherence to all brand and content standards 
  • Contribute to the development of institutional communications and marketing strategy and execution 
  • Contribute to the production of signature institutional publications, such as the twice-yearly SPA Magazine and the Annual Report 
  • Support major school events, including Admission and Advancement events, major concerts/performances, and Commencement

Content production and publication management

  • Identify, source, write, and produce stories for both print and digital channels that promote the school community, culture, and brand 
  • Manage the school website (www.spa.edu) including both back-end management through the Finalsite content management system and front-end content development 
  • Serve as editor of the weekly Parent Newsletter, managing content collection, editing, and production through the Veracross student information system 
  • Work with internal departments to plan and produce printed and digital collateral to support programmatic needs, including the Admissions, Advancement, Athletics, and Fine Arts departments 
  • Take and edit photos and videos as needed, and manage the School’s SmugMug photosharing site

Social media management

  • In collaboration with the Director of Communications, execute a comprehensive strategy for SPA’s multi-channel social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, and emerging social platforms 
  • Source, write, and post content for all social platforms on a daily basis 
  • Work with internal clients with regard to social media best practices and content 
  • Track, benchmark, and grow engagement across social platforms 
  • Monitor trends in the social media landscape

Required background and experience:

  • A Bachelor’s degree and minimum three years’ professional experience as a communications generalist 
  • An understanding of and appreciation for SPA’s mission and an enthusiasm for learning about and actively participating in the life of the school 
  • Superior writing skills across multiple print and digital platforms 
  • Experience in managing social media content across multiple platforms 
  • Demonstrated skills in publication management and project planning/execution 
  • Proficiency in shooting and editing still photography and video 
  • Experience and high comfort level with technology and digital tools including content management systems (Finalsite experience preferred), the Adobe Creative Suite, Google Suite products, iMovie or similar video editing platform, and asset management tools such as Dropbox and SmugMug

Salary is commensurate with experience and demonstrated areas of expertise.
