Position Overview

Riddell is seeking an ambitious, energetic, and versatile Marketing & Communications Specialist placed within the MarCom department that will collaborate with the InSite Smart Helmets team comprised of product and sales professionals. This role will support the recently launched InSite Analytics software-as-a-service (SaaS) offering and will be charged with increasing awareness of the hardware/software and underscoring Riddell’s leadership in the category with both internal and external stakeholders. Being that the role has a dual-reporting structure, the ability to excel in cross-functional work and ambiguous situations is critical to success.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Lean into a passion for football and technology savvy to gain a deep understanding of Riddell’s business, products, and competitive advantage and identify new ways to reach the football community with the Riddell Smart Helmets and InSite Analytics value proposition 
  • Develop an integrated marketing and communications strategy that accounts for internal and external stakeholders with the support of the broader MarCom team 
  • Serve as a day-to-day liaison between the InSite Smart Helmets team and MarCom team while building bridges across the organization, including within Sales and Operations/Support 
  • Partner with General Manager – InSite Analytics in work toward achieving business unit objectives 
  • Collaborate with the sales team to amplify InSite Analytics customers through case studies, testimonials, and company newsletters to gain further credibility for the product offering 
  • Establish a templated approach to new business presentations, customer communications and touchpoints, and media/social engagement to drive efficiency and customer success 
  • Monitor peer-brand and competitive activity, industry research, and relevant trends to help inform strategy and report back to the broad team with insights 
  • Inform and help produce product-specific content for key projects, including content shoots, catalogs, sales meetings, promotional materials, launches, etc. 
  • Develop and drive messaging, communications/PR, and thought leadership to elevate product offering and brand within football, sports, and wearable technology verticals 
  • Create, guide, and support the distribution of digital and social media content, including across paid, earned, and owned channels 
  • Assist with planning and attending key customer and industry events and partnership activations 
  • Work with agencies and partners to guide programming in alignment with the InSite Analytics strategy 
  • Utilize project management tools (e.g., Wrike) to foster collaboration across teams and activities 
  • Participate in financial and vendor management, including invoice processing, annual budget development, and reporting 
  • Collaborate with MarCom team on other projects and activities beyond core scope of work in keeping with our culture and to maximize the capabilities on the team

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Advertising, Sports Management, or another related field; Advanced degree a plus 
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience; Prior experience with a SaaS company, customer success role, and/or strong passion for sports/fitness preferred 
  • Possesses a broad understanding of all integrated marketing functions, including traditional marketing, events, corporate communications/public relations, partnerships, and digital/social media 
  • Demonstrated experience in increasing product and brand visibility and enhancing reputation 
  • Strong communications skills, verbal and written; Copywriting and presentations experience a plus 
  • Proven interpersonal skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams and external partners 
  • Willingness to contribute outside of core responsibilities to drive overall team/business success 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, social media channels, and digital reporting tools; 
  • Knowledge of Adobe Suite and other creative platforms a plus 
  • Ability to evaluate performance using qualitative and quantitative data to refine strategies and tactics 
  • Willing to travel for the position (approx. 10%)
